I am stuck using v 64.0.2, Firefox 65 is unuseable.
FireFox ver 64 works flawlessly, but v 65 will not run on my machine no matter what I have tried!
Symptoms with v65:
Intermittently does not start, hit icon again then loads but doesn't connect. Very slow when it loads. firefox.exe does not unload from memory, has to be shut in task manager
What I have tried so far;
FireFox refresh. unstall / reinstall uninstall uBlock Origin sfc /scannowall uninstall Avast uninstall VPN Delete all firefox files on system disk + delete all registry entries then reinstall. Install from full version .exe Removed VPN (Private Internet Access) Updated Windows and any and all drivers.
What am I missing ?

Nothing fixed the problem, that is until I installed FF 32 bit.
The 64 bit version has issues for me, the x86 version runs perfect and fast.

Yes FredMcD. I keep updates on manual, but check everyday. Tried all of the v 65 releases.

Since FF was working Intermittently and opening web pages, I think it is safe to assume it was not being blocked by the Windows 7 firewall. However, I did remove all FF entries in the firewall.

Here's something else if you haven't done this.
Backup your bookmark to restore back again.
0. Download the latest firefox based on 32 or 64 bit O/S 1. Uninstall all firefox and delete the mozilla folder 2. Restart and then reinstall the newest firefox 3. Start firefox and see if the problem is gone or not.
Sometimes it requires a clean install to work because of corrupted files. if that is the case here.

Or to make it easier get Fx 65.0.2 from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Is not the 32-Bit version less secure? I still wonder if I should downgrade to 32-Bit if it will work better and what features I might lose.
