Jump list options disappear. I'm on PC with Windows 10 pro, I've tried many tips from different websites to solve this but so far the only thing that works is reinstalling which is unpractical. Can you help me please?

Hello amoeba_pro,

Here's hoping that you haven't tried this yet :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar browser.taskbar.lists.

and look for the preferences :

browser.taskbar.lists.recent.enabled

browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled

browser.taskbar.lists.enabled

and make sure their values are set to true

If you had to change anything, then close and restart Firefox.

In addition you could take a look at this article :

Thanks for your answer, unfortunately it doesn't work, even when browser.taskbar.lists.recent.enabled value was false changing it didn't do anything, And yes I've already visited and tried all the tips in that website.

So far the I've noticed that fully uninstalling firefox that is deleting the users data profile etc is the only thing that works for me, a simple uninstall of the program files does result in the same bug when reinstalling. So I think that something gets corrupted inside the users profile at some point even after minutes of being reinstalled.

I'm still looking for help though.

Did you try to create a new shortcut in the Windows taskbar (i.e. remove all existing Firefox shortcuts and drag the Firefox icon to the taskbar area)?

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

If the above does not resolve the issue:

Are you losing the entire jump list, or do you get some of the Firefox-specific sections, or just the bottom three items?

Just got home, jump list is there. The only thing I remember doing was resetting/restarting the PC after following every tip suggested.

Yes cor-el, I unpinned and pinned to the taskbar, but I didn't drag it just opened Firefox trough the desktop shortcut. I also turned off an on the entire jump list in Window's taskbar settings with no result. I was about to create a new profile but for now seems to be solved I guess.

Yes jscher2000, the only items showing were those 3 : Firefox, pin/unpin and close window. No "frequent" or "task" section.

It is solved? I don't know which suggestion did the job, neither why the fully uninstall was the only thing that worked without restarting the PC.
