duplicate of [/questions/1231565] thread. I received the above message for some time before taking action. I downloaded it (3 times in the end) before making time to install it. However, even before the install I noted that I seemed to be at the latest version (61.0.2) (64 bit) by checking on the 'about' page. Nevertheless I re-installed (shut down the browser and ran the last download) in the hope that it would fix the issue. No Luck, as I have received the prompt multiple times since then, and I can find no existing log that addresses this situation. Update - as I was logging this, left the 'about' page open, which would always display 'checking for updates' - but since I knew it was up to date, I would close this window before it could complete. Also, I assume that like other browsers, Firefox continues to check for updates in the background (also how else would it prompt me to apply the latest update since I never go to this page otherwise). Anyhow, for the first time this process finished and confirmed that Firefox is up to date. This might mean the problem is now resolved, but only time will tell, but if so, then my question is why did it not get to this milestone when checking in the background? Either way there is a problem, as having to go to that page and leave it open till it resolves (the next time there is an upgrade) is not what I would call good programming. Thanks Mark
