Macbook Pro, Firefox audio only works when iTunes is playing

If I have iTunes playing music, the audio in any videos in Firefox will only play as long as the music in iTunes is playing. If I pause iTunes, the audio stops in Firefox. Firefox works ok if I close iTunes and Firefox, then open Firefox only. If I open iTunes Firefox audio immediately stops until I click the play button in iTunes (which starts up music as well).

This does not happen with Safari, I had to make sure of it. Firefox used to be ok with iTunes. I'm not sure which update broke it.
