Again,I loose the cached data for websites to recognize (cookies or otherwise), and beleive that I have all of the security settings very liberal. EX: - Logging back into a bank, I have to get a text or e-mail code - Logging into Amazon 2 accounts are missing; so I do not get the page where I chose an account -Logging into Google, all 3 accounts are missing; so I do not get the page where I chose an account

Recently, I resolved a "mouse not responsive to drop menus" problem with a reset, and I do not want to go through that again.

Any ideas?

First of all thanks everyone. It was the "Clear history when Firefox closes" being checked. This isa new problem, and so I am not sure how that happened exactly, but upon restart the problem did not reappear. I should have noticed the setting but not too savvy with FF. Thanks again! -Tony

hi, this information is getting stored in cookies - what are your settings in rgeards to them: are you allowing them for longer than a session, don't clear them on browser shutdown and don't use any addons or third-party tools (think ccleaner) that interfere with them?

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.

  • do not clear the Cookies
  • do not clear the Site Preferences
  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
  • clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep
