I have dozens and dozens of passwords being managed/stored/saved through Firefox. They have been deleted multiple times now and I'm getting fed up. It seems like it might be happening after a Firefox update. Why is this happening? Why has this not been an issue for years and now it's monthly? I'm extremely close to quitting using Firefox completely if it's not fixed. This is ridiculous

Could FF be syncing with another computer where the password list is different? Are you logged into sync?

Are you using Sync to sync passwords?

Are you using any external cleanup software like CCleaner?

This is a good thought. However, I am not logged into anything other than this support site. Under the FF options>firefox account ... it shows me a sign in screen, I've never signed in.

Also good thoughts. No I am not using sync, and i do not have any other external cleanups, or add ons for that etc.

What about the rest of your profile? Any problems? History, bookmarks . . . . .

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

no other issues have been noted. everything works fine. I have all my information available elsewhere, but not in a manner that I'm able to just transfer or upload a file with the passwords and it all be fixed, I have to manually put each one in at a website and save it. Any way to do a CSV or vCard?

There used to be. Those add-ons no longer work on the new Firefox.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
