Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. Do look for updates for your Video Card as 57 renders from CSS into pixels.

Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

Having a clean install and getting rid of left over updates and stuff should work.

Done. Also ran CCleaner registry cleaner. I am still having the same issue

I have addons enabled because it didn't make a difference with them disabled or firefox in safemode. Also tried disabling hardware acceleration.

i briefly chatted with a developer about this and if common troubleshooting steps like safemode or creating a new profile aren't helping we'd need to look into this and file a bug report.

is it something that's instantly reproducible on a particular page? if yes, it would be very helpful if you could try to narrow down the regression range of when the problem first occurred within firefox development by the use of the mozregression tool: http://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/ there's a quick howto video on that page but if you have any more questions about it, please feel free to ask!

As soon as the version upgrade firefox usually opens with the "whats new" page. I had to manually close firefox.exe and reopen and as soon as I get to my home page there is mouse lag, click delays and lock ups navigating tabs and typing in addresses. It is unusable for me. No issues with firefox 56.0.2

even with a clean install, same issues persist.

I had some of these same issues. Try to right click the Firefox executable or shortcut and choose 'Run as administrator'. That fixed my issues.

Same! So glad to hear someone else is having issues like me. I hope they fix it soon! I'm currently using Chrome and I don't like Chrome, but I don't have the lag, click delay and lock up like Firefox 57 is having right now.

could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.

if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Enabling prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser fixed the issue

I've had this same problem also. I'll try preventing accessibility services.

Edit: Preventing accessibility services is not working. I am using Vivaldi until such time that it's fixed. I can't believe that 57 made the final release.
