Please Help! Firefox 54 Continually Crashing on Win 7 machine

more options

My Firefox is continually crashing. It is so bad, I'm filling out this request for help on Internet Explorer. I have researched these issues and have done the following found in the forums to try and correct the problem:

1) Disabled Flash Protection in about:config 2) Unchecked Hardware Acceleration In options 3) Started Firefox in Safe Mode 4) "Reset" Firefox to remove all add-ons 5) Did a full uninstall and clean reinstall of the program.

I am completely at my wits end. I can only keep firefox open in the system windows (about:config, about:support, options). I keep seeing this in the crash reports (which I will gladly supply more if needed, I have 36 reports in the last 15 hours).

Please Help!!

I've had my machine back for 3 days now and there have been NO re-occurrences of the problem I was having. It was a bad RAM chip.

Thank you to BOTH of you for your patience and gracious help! It is GREATLY appreciated!

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

hi, can you please check the integrity of your memory with a tool like www.memtest.org - this kind of crash pattern is often caused by faulty RAM...

Hi Pillipp... my apologies for taking so long to reply. I ran the program you recommended and let it go through 5 passes (and 7 hours 35 minutes later) turned it off when I finally realized that it will just keep going and going if you don't manually stop it.

I think you may be right about it being a RAM memory problem. In five passes, it found 2208 errors, making that approximately 442 errors per pass. I am going to take my computer to my repair shop first thing tomorrow morning when it opens and have it replaced. I am sincerely hoping this solved the problem.

THANK YOU so much for thinking of that. I was going nuts trying many different things but didn't think about the actual RAM itself. I am going to leave this ticket open so I can reply after getting it repaired and let you know if it worked or not.

And thank you to Seburo for your help as well in getting this process started!!
