How do I remove the "this network may require you to login before you can use the internet" popup bar in Firefox? It's just a liability.

I have accessibility problems and a non-functioning touch pad on my laptop. The pop-up bar in Firefox prompting me to connect to the network is completely redundant and is actually a liability, because it pushes the network login page down, making parts of it invisible and all but impossible to access. Further, it doesn't connect me to the correct page. It takes me somewhere else entirely on the ISP's site and I then have to waste more time trying to navigate around to find the correct page. I've been searching since version 52 came out for a solution and there seems to be none. PLEASE give me a working solution!

network.captive-portal-service.enabled = false.

Thanks for the feedback TyDraniu. the network.captive-portal-service.enabled setting is already set to false. It makes no difference.

My connection is on a dial-up modem which uses pre-paid airtime. When the airtime runs out, I get that message, and it comes up on every tab.

I can't help but wonder, if the developers put new features like this in, why not also make it easy to disable them?
