I am not to sure what you may be trying to do.

When an email provider lets you set up an account it will have an address. Normally that is the address that you have chosen and will continue to use. Sometimes there may be facilities for you to set up some alias account name that you may also use.

When you buy and use an Android phone it may already have an email account set up. You may use other email accounts as well as that if you wish.

If the account is the common webmail type you weill be able to use Firefox to see your webmail emails.

Your phone will also have an Android app for handling emails, and probably an app specifically for gmail.

You may in fact be trying to ask about something else such as

  • The email address you use on this support site.
It is possible to change that. (Slightly complicated by the fact that we have done an emergency rollback of forum software)
  • The Firefox account email address. The Firefox account is used with Firefox Sync. Take care with that you will lose access to data if you change the email address used.

If you are talking about the Firefox account used for Firefox Sync than you are going to lose access to the email account and will lose access to the data on the Firefox Sync Server.

Remember it is the data on your device or devices that is important. The Sync service is there to help you keep multiple devices (Or even multiple Firefox installs on a single device) synchronised.

It is vital that you make backups of data yourself and keep it somewhere safe. It would often be considered prudent to keep multiple copies in separate locations. If you are keeping multiple devices in Sync that effectively results in multiple copies of the data being created. You may for example have office and home computers and an Android phone that are all kept Synced.

However for instance the bookmarks may not be exactly the same on a computer and on a phone. And Firefox Sync may occasionally mess up bookmarks listings. If bookmarks are important I suggest you occasionally but regularly make backups from a Firefox desktop type machine, or better still back up the entire Firefox profile. See
