FF 48.0.1 How do I get my FORWARD button back please?!

more options

On my desktop mac mini OS 10.10.5 I can not get my forward button back and I need it. On my newer laptop FF has the button, how do I get it back on my desktop please? Tried restoring. Can't drag button over, because it doesn't exist as an option anymore.

Thanks

Normally Firefox hides the forward button until you have used the Back button (since there's nothing to go forward to).

If one of your computers shows the Forward button at all times, you may have used an add-on to modify how the buttons are displayed. Can you compare the Add-ons pages of the two Firefoxes? Either:

  • Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Enabled extensions are listed alphabetically, with the disabled extensions below those.

If you never see a forward button, and the back button also is grayed, it's possible that all links are launching in a new tab or a new window. In that case, you may need to close the tab/window to get back to the previous page.

Thanks, I do have two extensions on the desktop that the laptop does not, evernote clipper and pinterest.

As for the arrow, it NEVER shows up on the desktop. So I can browse several pages within a site all in one tab and never be given the option to go back.

Just disabled them all and still no forward arrow after restart.

"Restore default" now brings back forward button once all extensions disabled. However, no I have to do with out the offending extension. :(

Will investigate further...thanks for pointing me in right direction. However, the forward button STILL DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. It disappears even when I have navigated back and need to go forward again. I don't find this HIDDEN arrow feature helpful.

Firefox, please let the forward button showing.

I can't think of a reason for either Evernote Clipper or Pinterest to cause a change to how the Back/Forward button works. Does it matter where you put the buttons for those extensions on the toolbar? They might be innocent.
