The site that I go to is password protected. On one of the pages I try to access, a little box opens up in the lower left corner - "javascript:;" And nothing happens. No other error messages. This page works fine with Chrome and internet Explorer, both latest versions, similar configurations. I tried all the suggestions in the community, none worked. I uninstalled Firefox with Revo with max cleaning and reinstalled. Nogo.

It sounds like something internal to their script didn't work. Firefox updates often modify how a particular JavaScript commands and objects work. Sometimes this is security-related, other times Firefox is getting more standardized and dropping non-standard behaviors, or any number of reasons. Maybe a change in Firefox 45 caused the site's script to stop working correctly, but we might not be able to confirm that. There is a site that tracks "breaking" changes, but this is more for the information of the web developers, since end users usually can't tell whether the changes are relevant: https://www.fxsitecompat.com/en-CA/versions/45/

Jscher,

I think that you have done an outstanding job of sticking with this problem. I like your analysis and candid opinions.

Since this is a site that I use fairly often, I am going to move over to Chrome and keep checking with FireFox to see if the issue is fixed. If there is anything more that you think of, let me know and I will be willing to try it. I will be checking back.

Again, thank you for all your efforts to help me.

Please mention it to the site in case it is affecting all their Firefox users and they have a timeframe for fixing it, or haven't heard about it yet.

I will do that. Thank you.

Again to all the contributors.... Thank you.

I just got off the phone with Morgan Stanley tech support.

They only support FireFox up to version 33!!

Can you believe that? Wasting everybody's time because they can not keep their software updated to the latest browser version.

I made a formal complaint.
