"Open containing folder" has suddenly appeared on all downloads which prevents them from opening, how to fix?
When I receive an email with an attachment, it used to automatically open with the correct program (i.e. MS Word for word processed documents or Adobe Acrobat for pdfs. Now, the pdfs still work correctly but the Word documents do not open. They show up in the downloads folder but when I try to open them with a right click I don't get a simple "open" choice but, rather, a choice of "open containing folder". Clicking on this shows the downloaded document in a folder but clicking on the document does not open it. Instead the little blue spinner appears and the document never opens.
Worked perfectly before I sent on vacation and shut down Firefox for 6 days.
