Firefox makes me log into facebook if I want to read a public page. IE does not. Why is this?

I used to be able to read public facebook pages while using Firefox. Recently, actually. But now a pop up window comes up that blocks the facebook page and forces me to sign onto Facebook. If I use Internet Explorer, I have no such problem. I just want to read local news and I am currently stealing Wifi, so I don't necessarily want to put my password into Facebook. Problem is, I don't really like Internet Explorer, so I was hoping you might know something. Here is the webpage I was trying to access if you need a public page to test this problem: https://www.facebook.com/katctv3. I'd appreciate whatever you can tell me.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.

(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)

You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running. Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.

To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.

Thank you.

Hello and thank you. I restarted Firefox in safe mode and was able to access the things I wanted to. I then restarted my computer so that it would no longer be in safe mode, and still had no problems. That's really all I did, and it worked, so thanks for the advice.

I decided to remove two add-ons that I wasn't really using just as a precaution, but really it probably wasn't necessary to do so. They were youtube downloaders.
