Hello,

I could also noticed that sometimes FF does not finishes the its downloads : that point is really annoying (I'm using Download manager S3 which is really basic). Some times (specially when the Internet connexion is heavy loaded (e.g; when a lot of download are done by uGet at the same time) , some downloads simply put them in standby, without the ability to restart them which is very annoying.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is an extension for Firefox, and does not come with it. If you want a download enhancer, try DownThemAll. It works very well.

Thanks fredMcD for your response you only pick those articles that don't solve my problem.

Is my downloader (Download manager S3) not the proper one ?

I'm a newbie in FF environment after over 10 years using Google Chrome.

I repeat my issue : some downloads do NOT finish but put themselves in standby mode. I have to re-download the from scratch (the resume option doesn't work in this case).

I never had this kind of problem with Google Chrome.

All download managers do the same thing. Some better then others. Try a download without the downloader, just normal Firefox.

Ok FredMcD, i'll try with basic FF downloader.

PS : I really does not remember to have installed "Download manager S3" (does it comes along with a standard installation ?), but i'll try without and tell you.

There are also external, separate programs available. The browser tells the downloader what to download, and there is no further contact. Very useful when the browser is having it's own problems.

I tried with Firefox native download manager with the same result. Some downloads don't finish.

Thanks finitarry for your answer. DownThemAll looks great.

Just one question about this one : how to add suffix - prefix or change the name of the file being downloaded ?

Hello all,

Finally considering all the problems I have with FF (I also posted a thread on FF contributors as I am a Computing Engineer specialized in systems and database optimization - not in FF obviously), there are finally too many drawbacks in FF compared to Chrome I'm using for over 10 years.

Thanks anyway for all your answers and efforts.
