I still don't know why the extension Saved Passwords Button with the key icon stopped working.

That button shows the passwords saved in Firefox's built-in password manager, so it's separate from passwords you save in Dashlane. Do you save passwords in both places? (Well, I guess you do.)

I have a guess about why it stopped working. Firefox 40 has some changes to how extensions can work with the user interface, so quite a few extensions that were more than a year old need to be updated for Firefox 40. This one was last updated on January 10, 2012.

Anyway, the "long" way to view the passwords you have saved in Firefox is through the Options page, Security panel, Saved Passwords button.

Do you use Firefox's built-in password manager feature, or an add-on like LastPass, RoboForm, Dashlane, PasswordBox, 1Password, etc.? I think the answers would depend on the specific program.

Note that there were some changes in Firefox 40 that affect add-ons and some of the affected extensions were:

(1) PasswordBox - there was an update around August 18th: https://www.passwordbox.com/install

(2) 1Password - version 3 can't be fixed, but newer versions should work and they seemed flexible with their updates: https://support.1password.com/v3-extension-firefox/

I don't know anything about the Firefox password manager. I have been using Dashlane and the extension saved passwords button with the key icon. They have worked fine for quite a while and then I started having problems with Dashlane where it would just stop working until I would restart my computer, but the extension saved passwords still worked until about a week ago and it wouldn't put in my log ins. I have tried all the suggestions from Dashlane, but then the other day I noticed something in the extension for Dashlane which I am adding a screenshot of. I also sent it to Dashlane. It just seems like I am starting to have more and more problems with the add ons. Another one is MY Pocket which I absolutely love along with Super Start. The last time I lost My Pocket, (I don't remember what the problem was), but My Pocket had been an add on or extension on Mozilla, but all of a sudden it wasn't available anymore. Thankfully I found it someplace else.

The issue of Dashlane not being verified simply means that Dashlane did not submit the extension to the Mozilla Add-ons team to be reviewed and signed. A later version of Firefox will actually require that process before an extension will run, but for now it's just a warning.

If you click the More link for Dashlane, Firefox should show a page with a version number. I downloaded Dashlane just now and without going through the setup process, I think the one I got is version "3.5.2.91395" which was updated on Sept. 3rd. Do you have that version?

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Password Exporter {web link} This extension allows you to export your saved passwords and disabled login hosts using XML or CSV files that can be imported later.

Yes that is the Dashlane version I have.

But I still don't know why the extension Saved Passwords Button with the key icon stopped working. My biggest issue is that I have extreme tremors so anything that saves me from typing is critical. In fact I just added Dragon and trying to learn how to use it. That will be a huge blessing.
