The other trick is to see if this is happening in a private window or a new profile to see if the profile or cache is corrupt":

• Cookies - Information that websites store on your computer
• Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Yahoo seems to use a lot of different approaches to comments below, varying between a link (news.yahoo.com) and a little flag at the end of a bar of social buttons (www.yahoo.com). Could you provide a link to a story where you can't see or access comments?

If you have made changes to Advanced font size settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the Default font size setting "16" and the Minimum font size setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.

• Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

• Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

• Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
• Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
• Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Sure. Here's one. The "View Comments" link at the bottom of the story shows up in Opera, Chrome, and Internet Explorer but is not there when viewed in Firefox. This page is in a new layout that Yahoo seems to have put in place sometime in the last 2 weeks or so. Thank you for the links. For me, the first one redirects to:

Can you see the comments there?

Now it gets even more interesting. If I use that news.yahoo.com/military URL, it redirects me back to https://www.yahoo.com/news/military-conducting-large-exercise-over-alaska-235530408.html.

I shut down FF and created a new profile (Profile 2) just to see if everything behaved the same. This time http://news.yahoo.com/military-conducting-large-exercise-over-alaska-235530408.html did not redirect and if I entered the original URL, like you it redirected back to news.yahoo.com/military. I was able to see the "View Comments" link and access the comments. Apparent success...

However...just to see if I could replicate this, I shut down Firefox, created yet another new profile (Profile 3), and started up again. This time, it behaved exactly like my original profile. The URL https://www.yahoo.com/news/military-conducting-large-exercise-over-alaska-235530408.html did not redirect and I was not able to view the comments section.

Theoretically the 2 new profiles should be exactly the same and behave identically, but Profile 2 behaved as I would hope and Profile 3 did not.

It's the same whether I'm signed in or not.

There is a warning message for that article that the certificate is Sha-1, partly insecure. *https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../Weak_Signature_Algorithm I do not see how this has to do with comments however. It looks like a simple javascript call on the page. @jscher, would a new profile affect the display of this page?

Two sequentially created new profiles should be the same. It would not seem there is enough time for them to vary. I'm baffled. Or should I say, I suspect "something" outside of Firefox but have no idea what it could be since it doesn't behave consistently.

I'm baffled too. At this point, I think I'm either going to do a Firefox refresh or keep Profile 2 and move everything to that. I'm more inclined to do the latter since there's no guarantee a refresh is going to solve my problem. At least I know Profile 2 works right now and I can make sure it's still working as I reinstall extensions and adjust plugin settings one at a time. Worse case scenario I'll just reinstall.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Ok. I tried this. It deleted Yahoo cookies but not any of the other stuff. When I went into history, in the 'Search History' box I entered 'yahoo.com'. When I right-clicked on one of the URL's and chose 'Forget About This Site' it only deleted that particular line. All the other yahoo.com entries stayed. I checked 'Saved Passwords' and it did not delete my Yahoo username or password. In fact, I even closed Firefox and restarted and went to a Yahoo page and was still signed in.

If it's supposed to delete all of that stuff, it looks like there might be something broken/corrupted in my installation of Firefox.

Since there are several domains ending with yahoo.com, it might take a few cycles to knock them all out. It might be clearer to use the Permissions Manager screen, which you can access by typing or pasting about:permissions in the address bar and pressing Enter. You can type yahoo in the filter bar at the top left of the page, and then click each domain individually and look for the cookies, passwords, and Forget About this Site button on the right side.
