Three of the four linked reports are OOM, or out-of-memory, problems. Firefox halts when it requests a chunk of memory to perform the next operation and Windows says it isn't available. With system memory use at 60-66%, this isn't because all memory is taken, but it could be that Firefox was using a lot of memory already and didn't have a lot of additional headroom. Usually in that case you would have noticed Firefox becoming very sluggish during the time leading up to the crash. Does that sound familiar?

One of the four linked reports was a crash in the Flash plugin. If Flash is crashing a lot, try disabling the protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have serious compatibility issues on some systems. There is a hidden setting to disable it; I suggest trying this for a day to see whether it helps:

(A) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(B) In the search box above the list, type or paste flash and pause while the list is filtered

(C) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode preference to switch its value from false to true.

This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.

So I should reinstall flash and shockwave? Also I'm a bit worried you mentioned Symantec Intrusion Detection what does that mean? Have I got malware?

Right, thank you. I will re-install them all but I'm just worried about the Intrusion Detection, does that mean its a virus?

I don't know exactly what Symantec's/Norton's features are but, in general, Intrusion Detection is a technology to watch for suspicious activity. It supplements virus protection, which usually is based on a list of known bad software, to discover and terminate unknown processes that are behaving in a suspicious manner. The fact that this software is injecting itself into Firefox processes is how it works and not something to be concerned about from a safety perspective.

Sorry, I don't use Norton, so I don't have any suggestions about uninstalling/reinstalling it. Perhaps Fred has some advice on that.

So far, I've updated Flash, Shockwave and my Graphics at the moment and I'm in the process of updating Norton

I checked this morning and it still crashes, here is latest crash ID

This morning's reports (the two linked) seem to have the same data, out-of-memory error. Was Firefox restoring a previous session with a lot of tabs, or what were the circumstances?

Just a normal session, 1 tab. Scrolling through my Facebook updates and bam, it crashed

Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?

Did you try to disable hardware acceleration and protected mode in the Flash plugin?

These are only on Facebook? I don't know why FB is causing this issue, except that obviously it keeps autoloading content into the same tab as you scroll down and depending on what it is, that may be creating unexpected memory requirements.

In the absence of other ideas, do you want to do a Windows memory diagnostic the next time you are shutting down your computer (a restart is required)?

Start menu > Control Panel, type or paste memory in the search box at the upper right, then click Diagnose your computer's memory problems

I will do that tonight and see how it goes, yes weirdly only on Facebook it seems. You know when you have so much stuff to get through on Facebook and tired of scrolling, you middle click and slide your mouse down and let it go , you just sit back and watch : D ye it crashes like straight after 1 - 5 mins.

It gave me no errors, I have tested this issue on my other machine roughly same specs except for RAM and MOBO and that other pc doesn't have this issue O.o even though it has the same extensions , add ons etc..
