@voithdriver, can you point me to the location (Webpage) where the incident happened... I think it can be an issue with website design, if the website has color set with CSS for anchor tags, and not for :visited links, visited Links won't have a different color.

Does Firefox keep the history if you check that in the History Manager or history sidebar (Ctrl+B)?

You can check the layout.css.visited_links_enabled pref on the about:config page to make sure that it is default (true).

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

hi, a bit delicate if needbe i can pm, but in answer to help eliminate this thought, the site visited link colour change was working ok with firefox and windows 10 upto about week ago, and the site does have a fault finder for this problem (though not mentioning windows 10) but just point at the fix in the first post

So, do you see the site added to the history if you sort by last visit date?

Easiest is to check this in the sidebar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

hi, well that was interesting, no that particular site is not going into history, I tried several of my running tabs and they all showed up, I then tried different sites including a similar named one and that showed in history but the one I want is not, either in normal running or safe mode

If the page is loading content via JavaScript or content is loaded in an (i)frame and doesn't change the URL in the location/address bar then this won't be recorded as history. It is possible that the website has recently changed its coding.

Does it work if you open a link in a new tab?

more options

@voithdriver that site is loaded via Ajax in some sections that is the reason the link doesn't change. In places where new URL is loaded the link color does change.

hi all, thanks for trying to help, but it now seems to be problem in history with the site in question, cor-el pointed the way, after investigating, that site is just not registering in history no matter what I do, even just opening to the home page it does not show in history its as if there is an exception rule that says ignore this site.

I have even opened the site on a new page instead of a tab but no show in history .

the site works ok in IE and chrome,

thanks phil
