WHERE ARE MY TABS???? - XPCOM error!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
FIREFOX has deleted ALL my TABS. That is A LONG YEAR OF RESEARCH LOST for trusting this bunch of amateurs who have no clue as to how to run a company and offer NO customer service whatsoever!!!
I tried renaming the sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js as I read here in the forums, and the right-clicked on sessionstore.js > Properties > Previous Versions, but it didn't work, the about:sessionstore.js is empty!!!
One thing that I notice is that my system has only saved VERY OLD PREVIOUS VERSIONS, but 2014 and even 2011!!!!
Then i did a system restore to the closed point - two weeks ago, which is FAR TOO OLD, but better than nothing. Now Firefox DOES NOT START. It gives me a little error message saying that "Couldn't load XPCOM."
Rather than constantly making USELESS updates to Firefox and forcing my computer to take them on every restart, Mozilla SHOULD spend some resources on debugging and customer services!!!!

I suggested making backup copies so you can try again if there is a problem on the first try... stuff happens.
It's normal for Firefox to read and delete the sessionstore.js file in your profile folder (main level, not in the backup folder) at startup.
Did you try History > Restore Previous Session or was that grayed out?
You can try to set the startup page to this setting :
- Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts":
"Show my windows and tabs from last time"
I copied it under the profile folder and it changed its size, basically emptying itself when i opened firefox.
how do you use that code to evaluate the file?
i opened it with a text editor and those code lines are not in it.

OK History > Restore Previous Session worked!
I've closed many tabs and opened others since 3/2, but it's all there are it was that day.
Thank you guys!! That was a lifesaver!!

Hi MozillaCrapp, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "save this conversation" but you mean for future reference, you could bookmark this thread and/or you could print it to PDF (or paper) so you can have it "offline".
Will do. I asked because I've seen some threads that seemed to have been "shortened". Thanks again!!
