Firefox continually hangs, I've done everything that has been suggested and still get "Firefox not responding" I want to keep using Firefox but this is getting really old. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!
It doesn't matter if I turn off any scripts that I run for some sites. It hangs all too often. I keep my cache cleaned daily. I defrag often. Nothing seems to fix this problem.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.
I'm not very adept at computer stuff. By "location bar" what do you mean? Thanks
The location bar is the address bar on the Navigation Toolbar where you type the address (URL) of a website that you want to visit.
about: is a special protocol to access internal Firefox pages
Thanks
You're welcome.
Did it help to solve your problem?
I changed the number but unfortunately Firefox still hangs, any other suggestions?
Try the extension mentioned here:
- Places Maintenance: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
