After installing the new version 69.0 of Firefox for ARM64 (KHADAS) I didn't find anymore the option for enabling DRM in the preferences. How I configure this new Firefox for allowing videos with digital rights?

Hi keglevich,

If you are asking how to enable Digital Rights Management (DRM) Content, you can check mark this option in about:preferences#general.

To do this :

  1. Click the '3-bar' menu icon in your web browser
  2. Click Options
  3. In the General Panel, scroll down to Digital Rights Management (DRM) Content and check mark Play DRM-controlled content

This will enable you to watch DRM content.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer but in my installation of Firefox 69.0.2 there isn't DRM option! I'm running it in Ubuntu 18.04 in a ARM processor (Khadas VIM) and for this environment this is the last version available for Firefox. Is there another way to enable DRM in this case?

Best Regards

You need to get the widevine drm plugin as such things are not automatically installed in some Linux distros.

This is the current version of widevine: https://dl.google.com/widevine-cdm/current.txt = 1.4.9.1088

I don't know if $ sudo apt install libavcodec-extra pulls the DRM plugin but you may as well try it.

Otherwise, theoretically a download link for what you need would be something like https://redirector.gvt1.com/edgedl/widevine-cdm/1.4.9.1088-linux-arm64.zip if such a thing even exists.

Which does not work. Unfortunately, i never found a way to browse a repository, say, by navigating to https://redirector.gvt1.com/edgedl/widevine-cdm/ I don't understand what is google's deal with this, but so it goes.

You can have https://redirector.gvt1.com/edgedl/widevine-cdm/1.4.9.1088-linux-x64.zip
