I've been looking for an alternative browser to Firefox. Here are my guidelines:

Must be Firefox 52 ESR Based & Manual Updating Option

No Pocket Integration

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does Firefox ESR have an option to turn off automatic updating? The next ESR release is FF 57.

Yes - in Options / Preferences, under 'updates'.

Not recommended - but I will spare you the lecture .....

There is Chrome or Opera but alot depends what do you do on one can be replicated on another. I use FF58.0.2 and have no issue. No one can give you options if you limit the request.

It must be Firefox ESR based.

Pocket isn't as big of a problem, but it would be nice to not have it.

Hi,

Would you do this please :

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

extensions.pocket.enabled

And set its value to false

Then close and restart Firefox, in order for the change to take effect.

That should do the trick .....

Must be Firefox ESR based - why not just download the latest
Firefox ESR version :

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/

Oh yeah... that's how I disabled Pocket.

You're talking about changing the pref's value on the 'about:config' page  ?

I know why, security.

I'll update it until it's at the latest for Firefox 52 ESR, and when FF 57 ESR releases, I won't update it.

Anyways, thanks!

The Firefox 57.0 Release has come and gone as the current Release is 58.0.2

The next Release the ESR will be based on is Firefox 60.0. It was going to be on 59.0 but it was changed.

Firefox 60.0 ESR will be out on May 9th and the last Firefox 52 ESR update 52.9.0 will be out on June 26 which is when 60.1.0esr will also be out.
