For some reason I have lost all old emails in my inbox. I am only getting new messages, but I have many Thats I leaving in my inbox to address later. Please help me to recover them. This hspppen on or about a March 4, 2026

Since the firefox upgrade of March 4, 2026, I have lost all of my old emails in my inbox. These are important items I need to work on before I complete and file away. I need to gain access to them ASAP. Thank you.

Currently my Thunderbird 'Sent' mailbox is only holding emails back to the beginning of 2025. However on previous PC's my Sent mail went farther back, but not I think to the beginning of when I bought the PC. I do backup my PC with some regularity but I am wondering whether there is a limit to how far back Thunderbird saves messages. I've been using Thunderbird for about 20 years and wonder whether I can retrieve some of my great emails :)

I made a folder and called it April. One day the folder just disappeared. No one seems to help me recover the folder and i need it. Once I moved emails into that folder they are no longer available in my inbox. SO if you know how to recover my folder help, or if you know how to recover emails that were sent to a folder, that would work also. I use Windows 11 and I have the most recent release of Thunderbird. I use Charter.net as my isp which is pop. Thanks,Charles

I apologize for the unhelpful summary line, but I am totally new to Thunderbird and the Unified Inbox is acting so strangely that I don't have any simple way to describe it.

Many (but not all) of the emails are displayed twice in the list of messages.

When I delete a message that isn't doubled, the message disappears from the inbox (as it should).

But when I delete one of the doubled messages ONE disappears as it should and on the other Thunderbird clears the From and Subject fields and changes the date to 12/31/1969, 19:00 -- the changed entry stays in the list and the body of the email is still shown in the lower pane. The only way I can get rid of the message is by selecting another folder (ANY other folder) then when I return to the Unified Inbox the deleted messages will be gone from the list.

I can't believe that this is how Thunderbird is supposed to work, so I assume I have something configured incorrectly (although nearly everything is still at the defaults that the installation gave me).

Incoming messages are interspersed with old messages without any order. I tried to corrrect this by pressing "date" in the installation column to the right, but that does not help.

Thunderbird: Suddenly links in emails are behaving very strangely. Whenever I click on a link, the Inbox window is selected and the link is essentially ignored.

This is over 700 characters long, which seems a bit strange.

Any info on fixing this will be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to create a Thunderbird account even though your system is not able to log into my iCloud.com email account using my credentials?

I am unable to find the Archive folder. It is not listed when I right click on the account name. All of my folders are there but not the Archive. Any one know how to deal with this?

Hi. I have a problem since few months ago about the following fact: when i want to move emails from inbox to a specific folder, i am using "recent destination" option, but the folders doesn't appears anymore in alphabetic order. I have attached a screen shot with "recent destination" list of folders and currently they are not listed in alphabetic order anymore. Can you help me to fix this issue?

Hello, I have tried to send several email replies using thunder bird but they fail because the smtp server times out. Or cannot be reached. I am a new Starlink subscriber and am wondering if that could have anything to do with the issues. The software is on my dell computer running windows 10. Any help or suggestion is appreciated. My wife's inbox has over 24,000 messages. I'm moving messages whose senders are the most frequent to folders. This ends up having to move over 100 messages at a time, which is taking forever. Has anyone found a faster way to move multiple messages into one folder?

Hello all:

After migrating to a new machine I finally have TB set up and running nicely. As I checked the individual settings and C: folders for the e-mail accounts under the server settings for each account (there are two, law and business), and the local folders (for long term e-mail storage, under Local Folders, Local Directory settings), I discovered the C: folder for the Law e-mail account is gigantic - when I check the properties in File Explorer it comes back as 331 GIG, yes, gig. More disturbing is that most of this appears to be "dark matter" that does not "show up." I total the visible files and folders inside that location and it is roughly 150 meg.

For comparison, the folder directory for Business e-mail account is only 24.9 gig, and the directory for the local folder for long term e-mail storage only clocks in at 11.1 gig.

Any ideas why the law firm e-mail account C: drive storage would be this large, with so much of it not visible?
