I recently had to change from Thunderbird to Apple Mail. I'm trying to move my local folders to iCloud, but I don't see any way to do that.

I'm using a MacBook Air on Sequoia.

Hi all,

I have been having a recent issue with Thunderbird build 115.4.1 (64-bit). I've attached a picture. Every 24 hours or so I have to approve a security exception for my pop accounts. I have the make permanent check box checked but it keeps happening. This has been happening over the last 3-4 weeks. I am using Windows 11 (23H2). I've played with lots of different settings but nothing seems to fix the issue.

Hej Jeg har i dag prøvet at oprette en ny mailkonto ved thunderbird Mozilla men jeg kan ikke få mit mailsystem til at sende en mail ?? Der kommer denne fejl : (det hjalp ikke at oprette en ny mailkonto) for fejlen er der stadig

Afsendelse af meddelelsen mislykkedes. Der opstod en fejl under afsendelsen. SMTP-serverfejl. Serveren svarede: Client host 80.208.70.116 blocked using SBL-XBL - see https://www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/80.208.70.116 for details.

og nu ved jeg ikke hvordan jeg skal løse dette problem. vores internet udbyder er jubii.dk

On 02-Nov-24 my Thunderbird installation on a windows 10 PC and a separate installation on a windows 11 laptop both crash on start up with no ability to start in safe mode etc and therefore no way of diagnosing. As a temporary measure on my PC I have put all the T-bird files in a safe place deleted the application and re-installed a fresh application with a new profile and the added back some of my email accounts.

It is not ideal because all my preferences, tags etc have all gone and some of the new defaults settings on the fresh installation are not good. I would like to be able to go back to my old profile with a version of T-bird that works.

Does anyone know what was going on on 02-Nov-24 that would have caused this? How can I re-instate my old profile?

In 2016, whilst importing emails into Apple Mail, about 20,000 email were given the date and times of the import instead of the date from the Received Header. Luckily Thunderbird has retrieved the emails from my IMAP server and given them what appear to be the correct dates. Meh knowledge of the tech behind this is very limited. Anyway, my question is, how can I export a fresh mbox or other format of mail folder with Thunderbird applying the correct dates to each of the messages?

Sometimes, when I delete one email from the inbox, the inbox shows "no message found", even though there are still other emails in the inbox. The remaining emails are still in the inbox, they just don't show. If I right click on inbox in the left panel, and select "open in new tab", the remaining emails show in the new tab, just not in the main inbox. If I close out thunderbird and start it again, the emails show in the main inbox. The problem occurs occasionally, whether I select delete from the menu bar, hit the delete key, or right click on the entry and select the trash can icon.

This problem started maybe 10 or more updates ago. For each new update I think "surely it will be fixed this time".

I have included a partial screenshot of what it looks like after the problem occurs.

This problem is different than any other questions I have found in the search. It purely a visual presentation error, not disastrous, just highly annoying. Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

The bulk filtering stopped working correctly a couple of months ago. Earlier on it stopped spam and I had the possibilty to mark a message as "Not junk", the filter then learned that messages from this sender was not junk. Today the filter is not learning. If it stopped a message and I marked it as "not junk", it´s not learning and will continue to stop messages from this sender.

I have received an HTML-formatted message, which arrived with a red background colour. When I reply or forward that message, the message composition window appears with the same red background colour, and with black text. The resulting black text on a red background is hard to read.

How can I change the background colour of the reply or forwarded message which I am composing? How can I override the background colour set by the sender in the original message?

Note that I am asking about the background colour of a message which was set by the sender. I am not asking about how to set the default colour of messages I compose from scratch. Nor am I asking about how to set the background colour of Thunderbird windows or UI elements.

Ever since the new version of Thunderbird I cannot send emails. I can receive them but not send them. I have found that if I temporarily disconnect my VPN, it sends OK. Your failure to provide software that can co-exist with a VPN without crapping itself is a poor advertisement for your product. I have read some of the millions of posts about this particular bug and your answers seem smug and lazy without addressing the problem.

Hi, I Changed IMAP to POP3, rebuilt Inbox.MSF and it worked for a few hours. Now, I cannot get control of the Thunderbird screen (it is grayed out and "the wheel is turning") I've also tried to Shift click to start Thunderbird to start in Troubleshoot mode and checked both boxes. (I get control for approximately 15 seconds). I am running Windows 11 with 128 Gb of RAM and enough disk space. What should I do now?

BTW, I am an I/T professional, so you may use jargon in your response.

Just wondering.... If I have 2x email addresses, and forward a message from Email#1 to Email#2 (ie automatically through the settings on the email#1 account), when receiving in Thunderbird, would, or should, this info show up in the full headers of Email#2, and if so, how?
