Today I upgraded to v157 and since then can't download files properly. I thought it wasn't doing anything, but on checking my Downloads folder found that it was saving files in there but with random file names and adding .part to the end. My settings haven't changed, "always ask" is checked, but it doesn't ask me where to save, just puts it in Downloads. This has never happened before. I tried changing the file download location and it downloaded to the specified folder but still without asking). I can remove the .part and the file will open, but I don't know how to stop it doing this. I never had this problem before upgrading to 157. Can someone tell me how to fix this or is it a glitch in v157? Many thanks

After my browser automatically updated to 157.0, when attempting to download files on MacOS 27 (Golden Gate) the download window does not populate but a .part file appears in the default download location.

Just upgraded to Mac OS 27.0.1. I'm running DuckDuckGo as my Search Engine. Since the upgrade, I can't download files/PDFs from websites, as before. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Since the latest update (157.0). I am no longer able to save images, I tried all the options in the community forums and still no help. I tried changing the download folder and I'm not able to select "choose". I click and click and nothing happens. When I right click on an image or video and click save image/video as, nothing happens. No directory box pops up. No download happens. Nothing. I removed all extensions and still nothing. Is this just a new update bug or is something wrong with my browser?

The Firefox browser for Android is my number one and primary browser, but since the recent updates (151, 152, and 153), I'm experiencing problems downloading large files or movies. Either the download speed is very slow, or the download fails altogether, even though I have a 5G phone and a 5G network. Another issue is that if I download two or three files simultaneously and then check the file manager within the browser, I only see one file; the other files are hidden. Also, the option to import and export bookmarks is missing, which is a normal feature found in almost all browsers. I've been using Firefox for many years, so please fix these issues.

Using the Firefox 151.0 Mozilla Firefox for Fedora. Updated as of 23 May 2026, I use just a generic FireFox. I don't customize it, I just use it as it comes from the Fedora distribution.

I cannot save images (right click menu "Save Image As"). Nothing happens when that is selected. This worked a couple weeks ago.

Downloads are supposed to go to ~/Downloads. Checking the setting for this, Go to the three-line menu > Settings > General > Files and Applications, under Downloads, the "Save files to" value is set to Downloads, but the Browse button does not work to reset it. Nothing happens when I poke on the button. I can select the text in the box, but I can't change it.

I found the help page for "What to do if you can't download or save files https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files and went thru every one of the steps there. None of them make any difference.

Strangely enough, there isn't even a "Downloads button" in the top toolbar. If I right click on the top toolbar and select "Customize Toolbar" it shows a downloads icon as already being in the toolbar, but when I click Done, it goes away.

Hi, I tried to download a file, but it didn't work the first time. I got an error, the retry button doesn't work, and I can't remove it from the list either. Is there a way to remove it from the list? Google pixel 9 if it matters, version Firefox on screenshot.

Simple problem; complex solution? I work between two laptops and send files from one PC to the other by email. This week I could not download the sent files on Yahoo Mail. It literally just stopped downloading. I checked my security settings, created an exception for Yahoo Mail, double checked MS Defender, but nothing seems to be blocking it that I can see. I tried to review other sources, but could not find something for this situation. Help?

Hi! I want to download the "Photoshow" add on. I can't because it says "Download the new Firefox and get the extension". When I check for updates it for Firefox it says I'm all updated. When I click the "download new firefox" I get the message "Your download was interrupted. But all is not lost." I really want this add-on. Is there another way to get it or to solve my problem? So I recently reinstalled windows and noticed that if I select the option that asks me each time where a file should be saved before downloading it, the browser appears to begin downloading the file (I can see the .part file in the default folder) but the window that actually allows me to browse for a location in windows explorer never shows up and thus, I am not able to actually download the file. However, if I select the "pick a folder and everything will download to that folder" option, it downloads just fine. I'm wondering if there was a way to reinstall firefox but keep all if not most of my settings and tabs etc.

On Windows 11 24H2, Firefox 145.0.2, I click file link and select "Save as" on Firefox file open dialog, firefox display "Windows's file dialog was crashed. File will saved as C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\xxxxxxxx.xxx". And downloaded file size is 0. This occurs with any file.

I tryed same operation on troubleshooting mode, and same result. Please tell me the solution.

Hello everyone!

When I click on a PDF file download link, it opens in a web page with the address starting with "blob:" and I can't download it. The file also doesn’t appear in my Downloads folder.

I’m on iPhone 13 Pro with IOS version 18.5. The version about Firefox is 142.1 (60552)

Do you have any idea why this is happening? Have a Nice day 🌞
