I've been using Thunderbird for years but suddenly as of yesterday it's stopped receiving messages. First it told me my password was incorrect. Ever since then when I try to click "Get Messages," it simply has no response at all. Nothing happens. I went into my Thunderbird password settings, and upon seeing that the incoming-message password had for some reason reverted to an old, obsolete password, I corrected it and saved the correct one. I've checked several times and the passwords are correctly saved now. But this did not fix the problem. When I click "Get Messages," nothing happens. My Thunderbird is connected to my Earthlink account, which is working fine. When I go into Earthlink, I am able to send and receive messages as normal. So the problem is not with Earthlink but with Thunderbird.

I received a spam message this morning that had a "Disposition-Notification-To" (aka Read Receipt) line that had MY email address on it. I honestly don't know why a spammer would do this - but that's not the issue. I have Read Receipts disabled, but Thunderbird generated an email (to me) and sent it to my mail host. This seems like a bug. Even if the Read Receipt has my email address on it (making it mostly harmless), Thunderbird shouldn't have generated the message. Or am I missing something? Thanks.

I can't receive any of my e-mails. I can send e-mails out now. Plus I can put in my password to log into my e-mail.  This has been a headache for me, I have been with Thunder Bird for years.

I also get a boxes that says : Unable to write the email to the mailbox. It says to make sure the file system allows me to write privileges, and I have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. I have enough space on my computer system and all. Another box that says my e-mail is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages. I did e-mail you yesterday on these issues. As I said I can e-mail messages out now also log into my e-mail with my password. Thanks, Chris

This just all the sudden started happening for my charter email account, I haven't changed any settings, the font turned red and can't receive the emails. I have mail washer and see the emails, they not from anyone shady. got a couple screen shots. Thanks

When I try to send an email, I get the following response. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: invalid user ID or password. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again. Have looked in account settings and cannot see a password anywhere. Hi I am Unable to send e-mails (only receive) after adding a 3rd account to my thunderbird, a microsoft e-mail (the other 2 are gmx and my old work e-mail). This is my private laptop. I tried tons of troubleshootings incl. deleting passwords, triple checking all settings (they are all correct), but I always get a pop up with "Login to server smtp.office365.com with username ... failed" when trying to send an e-mail. When I click on enter new password it just tries to send the e-mail again, which fails, so unable to enter anything.

My email provider provides "Disposable Email Addresses" - aliases which still direct mail to my inbox but don't expose my primary email to any web sites etc. I provide them to. It's very handy for registering for mailing lists, product vendors etc. since if one gets leaked, it's no big deal. I can drop the email again, but at least I know who was responsible for leaking it (I still get spam to my old Myspace account). My problem is that I'll occasionally have a need to reply such an email, and by default my From: address is my primary email address, not the one in the To: header. This is confusing to the recipient (since it's from some unknown email) and also exposes my email unintentionally. Is there any way to configure Thunderbird to always reply using the To: address? If there are multiple To: or CC: addresses, it could perhaps be specified with a wildcard matching any of my aliases. I can do it with Identities, I know, but I have to set that up before replying and I frequently forget.

I was hacked on 8th and received no emails until 11th. I think there may have been a couple of important emails but I can't find a way to retrieve them. Can you help please.

When left clicking the "get messages" button, nothing happens, no synchronization or status bar of importing shows up. The only way I can synchronize mail is to right click and select "get all new messages". Is it intended to be this way?

My Yahoo account on Thunderbird sees no email found.

My eMail Providers: Yahoo, AOL, Gmail.

AOL and Gmail(2 accounts) work fine. Only Yahoo doesn't respond. As you can see in the attached screen shot, it shows a "No Messages Found" message.

I have tried everything listed in the support page.

I'm sure it is something simple but I can't see it.

When I try to send an email using my Mozilla account, the only choice provided is "send later". I do not want and did not knowingly ask for the choice "send later". How can I have my emails sent right away? Thank you very very much for any help you can give me.

Why Does Thunderbird Hang When Saving Draft? Right after creating a new email, and I "Save to Draft", Tbird says "Copying messages to Drafts" at bottom left of GUI.

The only way I could see to clear the "Copying..." message was to have Tbird check for mail in a different account. When I check for the draft in Drafts, it's not there - it's no where I checked except the original still in it's own opened GUI that opens when using "New Message"

Bottom line - can't save drafts.

I think I've tried everything to figure out why Thunderbird will not send emails.

Yes there was an update the last week of May to version 140.11.1esr (64-bit).

Yes the incoming and outgoing mail server info gibes with my ISP (Shaw) - added pix

Yes have done the necessary adjustments to Windows Defender and Firewall.

Yes I have increased mail.news.tcptimeout because occasionally have received message that "Outgoing server

• SMTP" mail.shaw.ca timed out. Try again. Yes I have indeed tried again.

Yes I have called Shaw and they will not offer any suggestions because TB is a third-party.

What's left to try? A version reversion? Thunderbird has been so stable for so long. I even considered Betterbird but it uses the same profile so............

Hi, Since approx. 1 month, I cannot receive nor send emails from my Windows 11 desktop computer. My ISP is Videotron and they tell me that from their end, everything is fine and the configuration is fine. If I use the Videotron Web Service, I can send and receive emails using the Videotron Web Services but these are not reflected on my Thunderbird email interface. If I try to send an email from Thinderbird, I get this message # # * * Sending of the message failed.

1. # * * An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: smtp.videotron.ca Videotron ZGdcwFfPIz2we service temporarily unavailable AUP#EML-016.'

On my Android smartphone, Thunderbird is installed and it works perfectly...I can send and receive emails.

What can be done to make sure that I can send and receive emails from my computer, and to keep the smartphone and computer synchronized. Thank you

Já há dois dias que eu não consigo receber e nem enviar emails e já tentei de tudo, já até desinstalei o Thunderbird e reinstalei e nada... Uso o computador e tenho outras contas, mas só a conta do sapo que tenho(marcaomulder@sapo.pt) é que está a dar problemas... Já nesta conta, se eu acesso o servidor(sapo.pt) está tudo a funcionar correctamente, sendo portanto o problema desta conta no thunderbird! Estou a contar com a vossa ajuda, pelo que muito vos agradeço!

Hello, I face a problem with my email provider. I received an email and I can see 2 dates-hours in the emails platform of my provider (coprmail Cosmote, Athens, Greece). Specifically, 111:24 am and 12:06 pm. In Thunderbird, for the same email account, the column Date shows the value 12:06 pm. This caused other problem. In search I made, in the emails platform of my provider, for the same email, I have 11:24 am and in the preview window of the body of the email shows 12:06 pm. In my question to the provider, why this happened, I received the answer that the message received at their email server at 11:24 am, and the other date, 12:06 pm is the hour that the sender sent the email. I can understand that the PC of the sender could had wrong date+hour, but what is happend with thunderbird? So, my question to the community is: In the table list of emails in Thunderbird, the column Date what does it mean? I am waiting for receiving your reply. My email seems to be blocked, I don't have mobile.charter.net Message says it doesn't come from a trusted source.. I've used [edited email from public] @charter.net for over 5 years with no problem.

A weird thing has started happening to my Thunderbird inbox in the last couple of days. Emails are showing as from a totally different sender. For example, a Google search on Sondheim has been "sent" by EDF (my electricity supplier) and some Groupon emails are showing as coming from people I correspond with. Also a Keto bread recipe from a low carb group I belong to has been "sent" by one of my work clients! More weirdly, I copied them into a subfolder on my inbox and they then appeared correctly. I have tried repairing the folder but it made no difference.
