I get 2-4 emails per day from construction "estimating services", probably because I previously owned a contracting company, which no longer exists. They appear to be from mail-in-a-box. How do I stop these? Is it safe to go to mail-in-a-box website to request stop, or will that merely incur more emails?

Thanks for ability to ask for help.

I accidentally erased some of my email addresses and passwords. Previously I recall being able to access Password Manager to easily enter new email addresses and new passwords. That was some time ago.

I've attempted to follow instructions "within" Thunderbird but on getting into Password Manager where there are now only three of my 4 o5 emails addresses left, I could not find a way to replace the lost addresses and password. It was so easy to do so some years ago. Older users may recall old advice about using multiple addresses where the one attracting scams could be annihilated. I'll be 86 in a fortnight!

Humble thanks in anticipation - I'm still using Windows 7 and think it's the latest or near latest Thunderbird

I have used T-bird successfully for many years. My office email was recently changed to an Outlook.office365.com account. I try to set it up in Thunderbird following the Article "Using Thunderbird with Microsoft Office 365" (https://www.canterbury.ac.nz/media/documents/its/Using-Thunderbird-with-O365.pdf). Everything goes fine until I get the panel from Outlook that says enter password. then I get the message "Unable to log in. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". The username and password are the same ones I use to access it via Outlook on the internet and they work fine but not through Thunderbird. The information I use in the set up is: IMAP Hostname: outlook.office365.com Port: 993 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2

Any idea what I am doing wrong here?

My laptop is running Windows 7 installed Thunderbird, setup the incoming and outgoing protocols, for 2 different email addresses. But system is just hanging? I tried sending an email from one to the other.....and I received it on my phone, but not on Thunderbird?

TB 102.5.0 (64-bit) on Win10 I'm getting repeated notices that my e-mail accounts with Network Solutions don't have a proper "certificate" when I try to send an email. I get a popup window stating so, and asking me to "permanently" choose the exception. It doesn't matter how many times I tell the fool thing to accept the exception "permanently". I still keep getting the notice every few times. Since the glitch is not consistent, I don't have an image of one to put here. Not only that, I have to send the email twice after doing so. TB refuses to send the email the first time after choosing the exception, but allows it the second. I don't know anything about "certificates" and am sick of getting popup notices about them. I doubt that the problem is with Network Solutions email accounts. This reminds me of years ago, when I tried to upgrade to WinXP. It kept interrupting my work to give me popup security notices that I didn't understand and couldn't do anything about. If I remember correctly, I took it back to Sam's Club and replaced it with Win2000. Problem solved. Never mind that XP was supposed to be better. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

my situation was like so: I am using Thunderbird 102.6.0 under an up to date Fedora 36. I have an email account registered into Thunderbird. I have an RSA key with a passphrase added which I use to sign an decrypt as needed. I use a master password.

That was the situation before today. No update to Thunderbird have been made since the issue, nor to the system (afaik). I can not sign and decrypt messages anymore through Thunderbird. For instance, when I seek to send a signed email Thunderbird gives me a popup with: `Unable to send the message, because there is a problem with your personal key.`. Signature verification still works so at least Thunderbird can access my public key.

I go to the Thunderbird `Account Settings` and under `End-To-End Encryption` I see that the selected personal key radio button is greyed out. It says that the private is not available or readable (I dont remember, the message disappeared when I selected a radio button repenting an other key in the list...).

I check the Thunderbird OpenPGP manager and see that there is indeed a key for the email address associated to the account (see the attached picture).

This key pair is valid enough so that I can manually encrypt and decrypt using the `gpg` command (using a terminal, not under Thunderbird).

Any idea why Thunderbird forgot about the private key ?

I've just installed the latest Thunderbird, using the default imap settings and my known good gmail password. When I press 'Done', Google asks me to log in and give permission to Thunderbird to access my gmail account. This goes fine, but Thunderbird then reports that the password is rejected. I know that it is good, and I can't see anything wrong. Everything seems to be set correctly and none of the help topics appears to give me a solution that I haven't already tried. Help please!

This message is very confusing. Thunderbird is the only application that generates this error. I have no problems with Outlook Mail or 2 other email clients. Is there a work around this, please?

Real quick one. I send a link everyday to people in my office to an Excel file stored on our S Drive.

I sent it to myself and clicking the link does nothing. It does work in Outlook

I've tried setting all 4 settings under network.protocol-handler.external- to true but hasn't worked.

Is this because it isn't a html file? I also tried via URN link rather than drive letter.

How can I avoid it so that all emails are listed as independent emails.

I had been using my outlook account in Thunderbird for years, but have not for the past 2 years or so. I have multiple email accounts set up in Thunderbird now. All but one -- the outlook.com account -- work. For some reason, despite having the correct username and password, Thunderbird continues to FAIL. I've researched online and tried other server settings, and have confirmed my outlook accounts server settings on outlook.com, and have ensured the settings are identical to what is entered in Thunderbird, but nothing works in Thunderbird. Windows MAIL also works fine. Thunderbird Error is attached. As FYI, I also tried disabling 2 factor authentication in Microsoft, in case that is the issue, but that didn't work either. I also tried deleting and re-adding my outlook account in Thunderbird in case there was some new configuration on Outlook side that was not being captured in Thunderbird. That didn't work either. So now I'm at a loss! I'd appreciate ANY assistance anyone familiar with this issue can give me! In case needed, I do not subscribe to Office365. I'm only using Outlook.com, etc. Please help! Thanks in advance!

I have been using Thunderbird on a mac for years with no problems. Since yesterday, I have been getting login failed messages as my password is apparently incorrect. I am using macos 13.1, TB 102.6.1 and it is as a POP mail server. The error messages are attached. What is causing these failures? What login password is required? I have changed the password for this account everywhere I can find but these messages keep popping up every few minutes.

The option to mark Junk messages as read does not seem to be working. Even after making sure it is unchecked, it still marks all Junk messages as read when deleted.

Messages from the same Junk folder deleted in Outlook remain unread in the Deleted folder.
