Emails are being deleted from my folders once I move them out of the "Inbox". I need to keep my emails in the folders for future reference use. How can I keep this from happening. I am not interested in a cleanup procedure. Thanks, Dave Caldwell

I ended a session and when i tried to restart a while later i received message as per attached screen dump. I checked Task Manager but TB was not running yet i continue to receive a message that TB is still running. This has happened in the past. I had to restart my laptop to access TB again.

Archive action not following options (A single folder)

TBird version: 91.4.1 OS: Linux Mint Debian Edition (Debbie) / Cinnamon 5.0.7

Settings: Account Settings > Copies & Folders > Mesage Archives

Current setting is "Keep messsage archives in: Other [set to 'Archive' folder on IMAP mail server] - see settings-1.png Archive options = A single folder - see settings -2.png

Issue: when I archive from my inbox, the mails go into Yearly folder; I want the emails to go into a single folder.

I have tried to reset the configuration multiple times and restarted Thunderbird multiple times, issue still remains. Your assistance is appreciated. Let me know if you need additional information. Thanks!

I have been trying to download send emails in Thunderbird from the Verizon AOL.com servers. When I try to download emails, I get a message that says:

Sending of password for user dhanig2@verizon.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.verizon.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.

I have checked my server settings, and they appear correct: pop.verizon.net at port 995 smtp.verizon.net at port 465

I can use my browser to see my emails, and I can use the AOL app on my iPhone, so I know I am still using the correct password. I have deleted and reinstalled Thunderbird, but the problem with Thunderbird persists.

What do I need to do to solve this problem?

My computer had changed to Outlook from Thunderbird over night. It's a waste of time to restore T-bird. I don't want this to happen again.

Why does THUNDERBIRD strip all the embedded graphics from an e-mail when I send it to others or add a graphics file? The PC is running WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM, which was getting all the MICROSOFT updates during its lifetime.

Here's an actual situation: I do LADDER programming for Programmable Logic Controllers. I had an issue with the Editor, and so I contacted the company's Tech Service Dept. An agent e-mailed me back, asking me to make a Screen Shot of the problem that I experienced & send it to him with some other information for him to review. I did it no problem. When I looked at the e-mail in my THUNDERBIRD 'Sent folder', only the text that I typed was present. All the graphics, etc. had been stripped away.

This has also occurred when I've forwarded technical articles about electronics circuits and/or components. And, it has occurred when I've forwarded online newspaper items as well.

This NEVER happened with former releases of THUNDERBIRD, so I know that something has been changed in the basic operation of the program. Thank you.

Hello. I have followed various sites to try to make an easy archive of my emails without using an addon. Big mistake. Result I have deleted most of the emails from my account. I read other posts and restored my INBOX from the deleted files. The problem is I had other folders in my email, and getting those emails is required. This is how it looked like:

>>Inbox >>Sent >>Important

I archived them with the same structure to files. Then tried to restore them by copying them to the "local folder", because I saw no emails restored I did this a couple of times until I made the mistake of deleting the original archive. All I have left now are the files from my previous attempts in my windows trashcan. When I copy these files to the local folder, the typical windows circle that means "working" appears, but nothing happens. The archive files are around 0.5 to 1 GB, but the TB settings say there is no messages, 0 KB.

Can anyone tell me how to recover those archive emails? Is the .msf file required together with the archive file?

Thunderbird sometimes does not send messages to a specific recipient. Some messages go through fine but ones that include internet https links sometimes remain in sent box. The recipient is expecting the mail and I have no other problems in mail to other persons. I suspect that there is something about the internet https links that is causing the problem as I have sent similar messages to this person that both include and do not include https links. However recently some messages with links remain in the sent box. I get no error messages that show a problem.

I copied Saturday's message with https links to my company's gmail account, and the message and links were sent and received successfully. I also have eliminated some links and tried to send and have had some success in doing so, but it's a trial and error procedure. The messages contain numerous https links but overall they are not lengthy. The links involve internet news stories on covid and not obscene or illegal material.

Any thoughts on what may be causing a problem?

Using TB 91.4.1 as an email client via smtp.comcast.net

As of Wednesday, December 28, we could no longer send out email. We continue to get this message: The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

After many phone calls to comcast, I get contradictory answers, some say that my email address of diane@centerstage.com should be diane@comcast.net. We've been sending emails since 2010 using TB as our interface via the smtp.comcast.net as the outgoing server. All of a sudden as of December 28, no longer can I send out email.

After working with Comcast today and changing port numbers, user name, etc. now I'm getting this error while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: +OK Gpop ready for requests from 73.70.42.174 n9mb34535888ooo.

Has anyone at TB support heard anything about this? Thank you.

I'm getting a lot of e-mails that contain binary data in the subject such as ( Subject: =?UTF-8?B?bWljcm9zY29waWMgw75hcnRpY2xlIHRlcm1pbmF0ZXMgaGVycGVz?= ) when looking at the raw data. I've seen similar coding in the address field and can't trap those either.

I'm trying to filter these out but can't seem to fined a way to do that. Obviously this encodes the actual subject which would be "microscopic þarticle terminates herpes" but can't filter on the words in the subject.

How can I trap messages like this?

Hi, TB is working fine but recently I've noticed that some emails I have still to deal with go to the bin without me being asked. The odd thing is that not all of them go. If I move the emails I want back to the Inbox they stay there for a minute or two then jump back to the bin. I use Linux Mint. I do have quite a lot of messages in All Mail but have deleted some to see if that helps but it made no difference. Thanks in advance.

I have been using Thunderbird for many years. All of a sudden all the messages I now send are not received. I do not get any error messages. If I didn't check with the recipient I would not have known. I cannot even send a message to myself.

I have tried closing Windows firewall and Malwarebytes, but still have problem.

I have not changed any of my account settings.

Can you please help me?
