I am running Thunderbird on WIndows 10. I have eight different email accounts, but only one profile.

This morning on startup, all accounts and folders were gone and the "open your account" tab was open.

After several hours of frantic searching on the net, I took the most recent profile "prefs-9" and used it to overwrite "prefs.js" This brought back all my local folders and saved emails.

However, the email accounts used to be Wotsit@gmail followed by Inbox, Sent, Draft etc. Now the first account name has been moved, leaving behind its old Inbox, Sent etc with the correct email count but nothing at all in the right hand pane. The account header has re-appeared amongst other account headers but with nothing in the Inbox, Sent etc.

What I need to do is make all the emails visible in the "headerless" section, and return the correct header above them.

Here is what it sort of looks like -

Inbox (3) 2100 Sent 998 Drafts

Then further down after other accounts - Wotsit@gmail.com Inbox Sent Drafts

How can I move the Wotsit header back to where it should be?

I really appreciate the help you folks offer, and the time you put in helping us mere mortals!

So I have multiple email accounts. When using folder mode I want to show all the email account inboxes in the unified inbox interface. All but one email account inbox shows up. I do see the email where are the email addresses are showing. But not in the unified inbox area. why is that?

Settings When i go to Folder Mode - Enable, Unified Folders result: all accounts except 1 shows up. question: why wouldn't that account only not show up? And how do I fix it?

Troubleshooting: - Enable, All Folders result: all accounts show up.

Hi 😊 I’m trying to resolve my sisters’ issue with Thunderbird, and I know nothing about Thunderbird. When I open Thunderbird, I have an issue in that the Archive folder is there but no content is shown

Yet if I go to where the files are they seem to be there. They were working but I accidentally deleted the folder and out of the trash folder as well. If I go into “C:\Users\Sue\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Archives.sbd” where the emails and folders are, they seem to be there but not showing in Thunderbird when I click on any folder in Archive and are appear top be very small, i.e. empty.

I have screen shots if you require but thought not appropriate at this stage.

I have 6 accounts on cox.net and today in two out of the 6 accounts, emails that I send are not saved and I get a message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. The "sent" folders for these two accounts are grayed out. I have verified that the account settings have the right folder as the destination for the sent emails and have checked that all emails should be saved. I also get a message in Thundebird -The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxx responded [TRYCREATE} Mailbox doesn't exist. Mail goes out but no copy is saved. Only two out of 6 accounts are affected and I didn't do anything to them before this started happening.

With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. Thank you

I have 3 machines with Thunderbird. A while back I noticed that I had duplicate folders for sent mail (Sent & Sent Mail) and for Drafts. (Drafts and Drafts) I did a search and found a discussion from 2019, but nothing more recent. That one kinda lost me. I just got a new machine and installed Thunderbird again. My Gmail account on the new machine shows the same dual folders. Hopefully someone here can detail a solution in steps for a moron like myself.

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike

I have 4 accounts with different names but all with the same domain name (name1@samedomain.com, name2@samedomain.com ...). The first one set up perfectly and works. The 2nd and the 3rd can't retrieve mail from the server (didn't try the 4th yet). The SSL ports are the same for all. The passwords happen to be the same for all. (I haven't tried changing the 2nd and 3rd passwords as that seems unlikely to be the problem.) When initially setting up the 2nd or the 3rd I get a "Sending of password for user name2@samedomain.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.yyy.zzz responded: [AUTH Authentification failed." I've checked the passwords on both the client and the server ends multiple times and they are the same. Then, of course, periodically I get a pop-up with "Login to server pop.xxx.yyy with username name2@samedomain.com failed. When I go to the Account Settings screen with the 3 accounts and click on each Server Settings one after another, the only thing that changes is the User Name, yet the first account receives mail and the other 2 don't so everything is correctly set up. As an aside, I CAN SEND emails from the 2nd and 3rd accounts but can only RECEIVE and SEND from the 1st. Any help appreciated.

The program says I now have 11 emails which haven't been opened but there are no emails to open, just emails received previously. Apparently I am receiving but they are not visible to me. what happened and how to fix. I'm an amateur and don't understand computer commands.

Hello, I've found this article [[Knowledge Base Article|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/maildir-thunderbird]] which substantially says that the use of maildir is deprecated. Has anything changed from the time that article was posted? I'd like to use maildir, it seems to me a more rational way to store e-mails (and it's also better to make incremental backups).

When I attempt to send an email, I get this pop-up:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: impout006.msg.chrl.nc.charter.net cmsmtp 15.181.97.27 blocked. My ISP is Spectrum, they said issue is with Thunderbird, incoming s/b 993, outgoing 587, which I confirmed. How can this be fixed?

When I delete an email, it usually goes to the trash, so I can find it again. Now the emails are deleted permanently and disappear. How can I keep my emails in the trash? Sincerely Helle

I have been using three email accounts on Thunderbird, all for a long period of time, and all without any issue. Recently the one listed below has not been backing up, and I receive this message. I am not techie at all, so any response needs to be dummy down to a 5th grader level. Thanks!

tried to donate, it wouldn't let me click paypal, so used credit card, then just kept saying an error has occurred. You cant say I didn't try. You ask for donations then don't accept them.

Hello and thank you for your help, I am trying to find my old Mozilla Thunderbird, e-mail account my older computer does not work, anymore, I have not used my Thunderbird, e-mail account in over five years, because I am on a newer computer. And could not access my information on the older computer that does not work. I could really use all my information and EMAIL account for Thunderbird, because I have many years of information on all those emails, I can’t find my password, 0r email address for Thunderbird emails, because I have not used my Thunderbird account in over 5 years. My old computer does not work and Thunderbird Email is a great program. How could I get my old emails back? And working. If you could please give me more or less a time, and date, to wait for your response, so I can wait for someone to help me, and not lose that opportunity. It would be much appreciated, so I don’t miss contact with someone that can help me with this matter. I am in the East coast. And thank you for any concern in this matter please help.

Hi, I have used Thunderbird for many years and always liked it. I would like to know is there a way to tone down the brightness of the white message pane in email ?? It is very bright and glaring. Any white anywhere else I go is just fine. Thank You,, Banyarola
