There are many answers to the question of how to disable message threading. All are from earlier versions than mine, which is 115.7.0 -- as witnessed: Sorry! 0 results found for ‘disable threading in version 115.7.0’ for ‘Thunderbird'

Thunderbird seems to have so many minor changes and alterations in the recent past, that basic usability is affected. Not a good thing.

Once before, a few years ago, Thunderbird got so out of control that I had to go to a different mail client. Are we back to that?

Even though highlighting text is a SUPER minor feature, it is one I would love to see in Thunderbird. I am using Release 115.6.1 (64-bit) and would love to have that capability. I searched for add-ons but the only one I found had been withdrawn by its author. Please advise if that capability exists and how to install it. Thanks, mkcgkc@gmail.com Ken Cawthorne

I have an html signature, I made it several years ago. I have NO IDEA how I did it, and now it needs to be changed. My district is different. Can't change it from within Tbird. Would somebody please let me know where I can find that signature html?

I have Thunderbird 115.4.1 as of 2 days ago I have been unable to send any emails. I have Spectrum as my ISP and the error message I get is:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <lzweig1@san.rr.com> sender rejected. The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings. AUP#Out - 1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

None of my settings have changed in years, and all of a sudden I cannot send any emails. I have talked to Spectrum and verified that all my settings are correct. All they tell me is that I need to contact Thunderbird support. I can receive emails just fine, just not send any from any of my Spectrum accounts. If I use the Spectrum webmail service everything is fine. But all my emails and address book are in Thunderbird and I would like to continue to use Thunderbird as my default email client.

Ever since the last "upgrade" which is terrible I get my emails in threads. Does anyone know how to get rid of the stupid threaded messages? I've tried everything. All I want is emails to be listed in the order I received them. I DO NOT WANT THREADS

With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. Thank you

All the threading help is oriented to something I can set on the menu bar that also includes Date, From, Size, etc. I wish my threading problem was that easy. Threading is not chosen, never has been. Then suddenly April 2, 2024 6:30pm est, all my e-mails that had a thread got threaded, with arrows showing up in the subject of the e-mails.

There is a symbol on a different bar with choices like Sort By --> Threaded or unthreaded. All this does is hide e-mails that are even threaded or unthreaded, but it shows that what happened to me is also called "threaded." The term "threaded" has two meanings or definitions or uses or whatever, which makes asking for help all the more difficult. People keep telling me about the menu when I have a choice of threading, not realizing, as I think David didn't, that threading is also elsewhere in the thunderbird software.

And when I choose to show threaded, that e-mail I was sending on April 2 does not show up, but if I search for the file, it does show up. So it is there, but invisible. This whole threading situation just gets worse and worse. I need that file in particular, as it happens.

Suddenly, I can't send email from my Thunderbird (115.6.1 (64 Bit)) Windows app. Spectrum is my email provider. I can receive email just fine. However, when I respond to an email and when I send a newly created email or replying to a receive email, I get the following error message - " Sending of the message failed. I've been using Spectrum and Thunderbird for many-many years. This problem is going to cost me big-time if not resolved soon. I love THUNDERBIRD!

I only have mail back to Oct10 with them but it should go back to the beginning of Jan2021. My ISP says the missing emails from their server are the fault of my email app, Thunderbird. I use pop3 and always "leave the email on the server until I delete". No settings have changed but they insist the problem is on my end. Is there anything else I should be looking at or are they the problem, as I suspect?

iinet say its a Thunderbird issue. Removed email account and reinstated. Lost everything ! Dont want to try with other accounts. Same emails sent from Safari on phone work so seems to be Thunderbird. Started two days ago minimum Desperate !

Enabling my incoming emails. This has been failing for weeks. I reset my account with thunderbird and made a donation (thinking that was the problem) but I am still not receiving incoming emails. Tried and checked all my account settings - cannot find what the problem is. Please help.

I am unable to save attachments. I have been using this function for many years but now when I try to save an attachment (or multiples) from an email, I go through all of the steps and there are no reported errors but the files never show up in the target directory.
