Last week my usually reliable 'Thunderbird 115.8.01 on iMac 10.13.6 has suddenly gone haywire.

* In the folder pane, multiple folder duplicates reappearing even after deleting them. (See images) * And when I delete messages, they appear in the trash folder, only to disappear and repeatedly reappear - back into the message INBOX. * Also, after making a change in the Notification section to turn off the notice sound, and although the sound turned off, so did the auto-disappear function. Now I have to manually "close" each and ALL notification notices one-by-one. The new problem is: now the notification option section has disappeared in settings. (No image for this one. Nothing there!) Bug? Or something else?

Please help. P.S. I ran both of my antivirus programs twice. Each over different days and both declared' my system clear and clean.

I have my Mac and thunderbird set to auto-update, so I am not sure where the culprit lies. But my system did a Mac update and a Thunderbird update both recently. I'm now on Sonoma 14.3.1 and Thunderbird 15.8.1. When I started thunderbird it spun for 10 minutes. I thought it was locked up initially, did it again and even tried starting in safe mode. But after about 10 minutes, it eventually stopped. Problem was all my calendars won't display. I can add or remove either. The interface is barely responsive, and it crashes after a few minutes. I started Thunderbird from the command line to see if I could monitor the errors. I get about 100 of the following:

2024-03-10 14:06:22.361 thunderbird-bin[17189:518538] Rethrowing (from nts_ValueForProperty:) NSInternalInconsistencyException: Unhandled error (NSCocoaErrorDomain, 134092) occurred during faulting and was thrown: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134092 "(null)" CoreData: error: Unhandled error occurred during faulting: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134092 "(null)" ({ })

Anyone having similar errors, or any ideas on a fix?

Thanks,

Roberto

This is meant as Feedback, not a Bug report (unless others get the same thing). I suspect it can't be reproduced consistently.

Every message (since Mar20) shows a yellow error bar: "Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk mail." [Learn More] [Not Junk] [X] Just as I'm composing this, messages also have inconsistent coloring (picture attached).

Since the message says "Thunderbird...", I'm posting here and not google/gmail. NOTE I just tried the Learn More link and may be able to reset the "learning" so this post may have been unnecessary. Still - an unpleasant experience. I did locate the [Reset training data] in Settings and may have to use that.

BACKGROUND: I migrated from another Mac in January, that seems to be unrelated. I downloaded several apps from the App Store the day before (Mar 19) but those all seem unrelated. Some Mar20 messages are fine.

I'm running Thunderbird 115.9.0 (64-bit) "supernova" and "Thunderbird is up to date" on macOS Ventura 13.6.3

Hopefully this is the end of this story for me! Thanks. Please let me know if other details might be helpful for this discussion.
