Hello, I upgraded this morning TB to the latest version 102.13.0 but my account on office 365 is not working properly. I cannot forward messages anymore and the messages that I send have no content.

I am using Exquilla for Microsoft exchange and there is something definitely wrong since the upgrade was done.

Can you support urgently?

Set up your existing email address will not work. Thunderbird stopped working no outgoing no incoming. Deleted account then downloaded new Thunderbird. Entering correct name, correct email address and password (also tried with no password) finds set up on Mozilla ISP sever. Select 'Done' brings up message "Cannot log in to server.Probably wrong configuration, username or password".

This unsolvable for me now as I have tried everything I know and suggested in Help.

A man who i used to be able to hire to help me with computer problems, added Thunderbird to my computer - over a decade ago. He's no longer available for hire and i am so frustrated with problems with Thunderbird, i'm about to quit and revert to using Gmail directly. I MUCH prefer Thunderbird, but it crashes often. And recently many 1000's of emails disappeared and when i checked my gmail account directly to see if they're all gone from there, too - i can't figure that out. I've tried reading some of the helpful answers in the support community, but don't get very far - i don't understand computer vocabulary. And yet i'm on line, using emails many hours every day, for volunteer work, and can't keep up with that. It's kind of like my dependency on my car, but i can't fix my car problems, either. I'd be happy to pay a reasonable price (i'm on a fixed income) for help, if anyone can recommend. The few local computer professionals i've contacted locally, don't use Thunderbird.

I am at a clomplete loss here and after hours of googling and frustration I just need someone who can help.

- I purged all installation folders and paths, deleted profile and reinstalled Thunderbird 115.1.1 on absolutely (!) clean sheet, it is dead on and I inspected all versions and folders.

- I hoped that the version fixes my login issues, but if anything, they're worse and the logins don't last nearly as long as they used to.

- I am aware of the imap, smtp and tls configuration

- I am aware of the settings in gmail, also tried all combinations of oauth2, less secure apps, app password, I tried all of that

- tried enabling javascript manually, cookies, checking all local browsers, especially firefox browser and legacy IE options for anything that could be wrong

- I can set up and add my gmail accounts, usually once upon install. It will then work with no issue, receives and sends mails, loads all sub folders. It just won't stay.

- I can go to account/privacy and view and edit my passwords. I can enter the correct password there and the account itself works and loads mail. If I close and re-open TB, it's still fine. On the 4-5th time of opening and closing, it locks up and starts promting for sign in.

- I get logged out of one or multiple accounts and get promts to sign back in. These login page windows then cannot be interacted with, at all. They are not displayed correctly, the buttons are just dead and do not react or lead anywhere if I click. Some do the little brightness animation and recognize that I clicked, but nothing continues. I have no ability to enter or submit the gmail credentials in there.

- I tried navigating those with on-screen keyboard, CTRL +, also with scroll wheel etc., it cannot be resized or interacted with. Also changing the window and screen scaling size (100%/150%) does nothing, I also checked all actual browsers like firefox and chrome and they all have normal zoom, cache and cookie settings. Why is the login page not usable?

I know it would probably be fine after reinstall but I just cannot keep doing this. It does not last even a week. I even deleted the profile and re-setup everything several times already, it still comes up with login pages all the time. And if those are not usable then I cannot go forward.

This is all on a fresh Lenovo Thinkbook G15 that is nearly new. I have never seen software not work this vehemently. I have given all info that I have and all that I tried. Can someone please advise, I don't understand it anymore.

Most times, I would not even notice, but twice today, I noticed that the email body rendered before the header (From:, To:, Subject:, buttons, etc).

And in one email that arrived this morning, displayed no header until a considerable amount of time had passed. I suspect that there must have been some email content from the hosting server being reticent to arrive, or maybe not all, and it timed out.

Anyway, if there is a problem with the arriving email and content, it would look better if the header was there so that some action, other than closing the tab, could be actioned. Otherwise it looks like Thunderbird is not behaving correctly.

Even subsequent re-openings of the email show a significant delay. I kept a copy as an eml file, just in case.

Hello, I am at my wits end :) I have followed everything here ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail ) and still am have problems sending email with gmail accounts in TB. Incoming seems spotty too. I have read everything I could prior to reaching you here and cannot find a solution. This has been ongoing for a month. At times email will send for just brief time. The only thing I have not tried on that linked page is anything under that "Archiving messages" and "Subscribing to folders and synchronizing messages" sections. Thank you, Dave

I added my AOL email account to Thunderbird. My AOL email account still receives email messages. Thunderbird receives no AOL email messages. How do I solve this problem? Thank you for your help. Don Cohen dbcohen@verizon.net

For a few years, the number of e-mails in my Inbox, doubled every so often. I just deleted thousands of duplicates. I had 9 copies of the same e-mails over and over again. I got the Inbox down to 4,7xx just the other day. Just now, without even being in Thunderbird, the program crashed. I closed it and restarted it and Now everything is doubled again and I have 9,xxx e-mails. This is not nice. What can I do to prevent this from happening?

I can't send emails from my PC. "Paul" suggested that I find which is my e-mail service provider. My service provider is Telia. I hope this helps as I have been unable to send emails for a week.

Here's my problem: Is it really true that you can't get tell that a new email has arrived without opening the Inbox?

I was in the process of migrating one of my email addresses to TB to try it out. It's for an email account that I use a fair amount and was having problems with another email browser that I had tried, that developed a bug and gave error messages when trying to attach files. Figured I"d see if TB was a viable option.

I have searched through various threads and read about this problem and answers involving changing something in "CSS" whatever that is, but is this really the current state of affairs? Seems pretty basic. You may have been talking on the phone, going to the bathroom etc., and want to know if an email came in, you should be able to just look at the icon on the taskbar and see if there's anything new. Otherwise you may have to be clicking the icon 50 times a day to see if you have mail, and then getting tired of doing that and not knowing something came that you missed. I know you all know this. Just thought I'd spell out the problem.

Before I gave up on TB and looked for another option, I figured I ask the forum and see if there was something I was missing, which could certainly be the case.

My nightmare started yesterday around 10 Sept 2023 at 3:20. TB would load, but not the window panes, even though it would indicate that it was downloading (see images 1, 2 & 3). While loading, I would get screen #1 then my monitor would flash and I'd either get screen 2 or 3. Sometimes I got lucking and it would load.

Then I tried clearing the cache, restarting in trouble shooting mode, et al. Here are the logs (see images 4 through 9 and 13).

Other people had this problem in 2022, but my problem seems to be a little bit different.

When I click "Get Messages" in Thunderbird for my Yahoo mail account, it now opens a new window (with URL s.yimg.com/...) in which Yahoo tells me to enter my credentials. My user name is already populated. When I click "Next", it says "Please enable cookies in your browser and sign in again."

The problem is that I'm running Thunderbird, not a browser, so there shouldn't be any cookies, and if I run Firefox, cookies already *are* enabled, and even if I log in to Yahoo mail in Firefox, Thunderbird still gives me the same message. I can't log in to my Yahoo mail from Thunderbird anymore. This occurred for the first time today. Thunderbird is at version 102.14.0, and I believe it just updated to that version last night.

I have attachments set to be downloadable. I regularly receive a .txt file which I need to import into an analysis programme, but it always shows inline. I've checked all the settings and inline is definitely not selected. The content it shows is incomplete and corrupt so even if I copy it and paste it into another file it is not useable.

Windows Mail and another email client both show it as a downloadable attachment so there is nothing wrong with the file or how it is sent. When it is downloaded from these programs it opens as a regular txt document in notepad.

I have noticed that the .txt file has unix(LF) rather than the usual Windows (CRLF) in the footer. Could that

have something to do with it?

I hate having to run Windows mail in tandem just to receive these files. Any suggestions please?

Thunderbird is constantly downloading all messages over and over and used 100gB data within a few days - how do I stop it? In settings I have set don't download on start up and no time lapse but still it is downloading continuously.

In Thunderbird (102.11.0 (64-bit)) I have opted to view message body as plain text, but the e-mail body in the e-mail viewer and the e-mail body in the source doesn't match. Instead, Thunderbird is modifying the e-mail body.

How can I make Thunderbird truly show the message body as plain text?

I set the default font to Arial in settings > fonts and colors. This does apply to composing messages - but not to how incoming messages are being displayed. This problem didn't exist until this week. What can I reset, or is there a way to clear some config profile, and reconfigure? Or would I have to roll back to an earlier release? IF that even helps.

Ever since updating Thunderbird to 102.10.0 there have been intermittent problems when downloading POP3 message to my Inbox. Sometimes it works OK. Other times I get error messages to the effect that Thunderbird can not write to the mailbox and to check for file space and/or access permissions. Permissions are OK and there is LOTS of free file space!

Problem is that messages are being marked as read on the server and so not downloaded next time I "get new messages", but of course they've not been written to the Inbox, so messages are being 'lost' at random :-(
