I upgraded to TB 102.0 today. After I checked my settings and updated my plugins, it seemed to be working fine. However, later in the day I noticed a message that TB was downloading about 880 messages in my main inbox. Of course, there are not nearly that many new messages. I searched and did not notice any new emails in the listing. However, I found that two recent messages had been corrupted in some way. I enclosed an image. When I open the message, there is not even the normal header with the different choices. There is just what appears to be a bunch of information that has been mushed together in place of this email. I found two emails like that. I right clicked on the two, and deleted the corrupted messages. Then I compacted files. For a moment, things seemed OK. Some other emails near those that would not display worked again. However, shortly after I did another compact folders, I got the same message -- downloading the same 880 emails. Now I have two new messages corrupted.

Please help! I have no idea how to stop this corruption. This account is hosted on Google Workspace. I have it set to sync only the last 90 days of messages.

I've been running Tbird on Windows for many years. About 2 weeks ago something changed, either in Tbird or at Microsoft, which stops me from sending to the Office 365 SMTP server. I can send and receive using Outlook on the Office website, but I can't send locally from Tbird. Error message screenshot herewith. I have tried every possible permutation of server settings, which currently are:

Server name: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Security: START/TLS Authentication: OAuth2

MS support says these are correct, and they are at wits' end to understand what is going on. They asked me to ask Tbird support, so I am.

I should add that at about the same time I started getting SMTP rejections in Gmail on my Android phone, and miraculously that was corrected yesterday, without any action from me. There is something odd going on at Microsoft - does anyone know what it is? My other accounts on Tbird work fine of course.

Everything was working fine in Thunderbird for a LONG time. A few minutes ago I opened it and instead of opening normally it opened to a page called 'account setup'. There was another tab called 'home' that had buttons for email, calendar, address book, etc. Clicking email took me to the account setup page again.

HOW DO I GET IT BACK TO NORMAL?????

Every time I download new version of thunderbird I suddenly cannot send emails, I can receive fine. It's so maddening ughh Once this happens I spend many hours searching support and it takes forever to find the answer. Some times it's a simple server setting change is the fix or adding @.... after the username but now this is not working

Please please help

My settings are: SMTP port 587 starttls normal password

Server serrings pop.shaw.ca port 995 ssl/tls normal password

The latest version of Thunderbird (91.1.2 (64-bit)) installed yesterday. Before the installation I was able to send emails on all my accounts. After the installation I cannot send emails on any of the accounts.

When I reply to an email, the send button is greyed out. When I make a new email and click on send nothing happens. I can still receive emails. There are no messages that I am doing anything wrong.

I have four separate accounts, each with their own SMTP server. Send doesn't work on any of them. My OS is Windows 10 and is up to date. My antivirus is McAfee LiveSafe (16.0) and it is up to date.

Hi,

I did an upgrade yesterday from 91 to 102. This morning, I get a few issues. Some email messages are blank. Some have a lot of header and content code displaying that is not related to the email I am opening but from a different email message. Some emails have no HTML content but others are fine.

On my cellular device, I am using the Bluemail app and all messages are there and are fine so it appears to be related to Thunderbird 102 upgrade.

I have used Thunderbird for years and this is an issue I have never seen? I am running an IMAP account.

I did a clean install windows 11 21H2, installed Thunderbird 102.1.1 and later 102.1.2 in the wizard i copyed my password and all the other info imap, after pressing ready checking password keeps on checking noting happens.

My password is correct and also all the other setting.

Must be a bug in the program.

Getting this message as of today when trying to connect to my Outlook/Microsoft Office 365 e-mail account. No change of password or any security settings were done. Googling for the error reveals plenty of other folks coming across it in Thunderbird but not one working fix. Plenty of TB blaming Microsoft and vice versa. IMAP access is still working on iOS so that does strongly suggest a Thunderbird side problem.

Please no "switch to a different email provider" proposed solutions that isn't helpful.

I am running Thunderbird Daily. I had a problem recently where a number of my mail folders got corrupted; mail messages were missing. So, what I did was to restore from a good backup before the corruption the folder and folder.msf files to a new directory. One corrupt folder is my Sent folder. I then copied the restored Sent and Sent.msf to my TB Local Folders directory as Sent-restored and sent-restored.msf (while TB was not running). I started TB and looked at the sent-restored folder. The messages are there, and they are intact. I then select ~2400 mail messages from Sent-restored and copy into Sent. When I look at the Sent directory, I see that all of these messages have been copied, and the directory seems OK - all the correct dates, recipients, and subjects. But ALL of the messages I copied now have the same text - the text of one (I believe) of the messages.

I have tried this twice, with the same results. What can I do to debug/correct this? Thanks.

I have been using Thunderbird for many years and have previously updated without problem. But upon updating to version 102.1.2 I suddenly couldn't see my folders or emails (see attached image). However, if I search for an email I will get a list containing the relevant emails, but as soon as I click on an email in the list I go back to the blank screen like at login with no folders or emails.

I have trawled through related fixes and have tried deleting all of the .msf files in my profiles but to no avail. I really hope that someone will be able to assist.

Guys hello! I was using thunderbird for my mails on windows 7 on an old machine..Recently it started crashing on startup..I checked for solution on google then i found out i could start with safe mode only...(i wasnt using any addons so disabling them had zero effect)

Because i didnt want to continue with safe mode only, So i zipped my profile folder and created a backup.. Then i downloaded Thunderbird Setup 91.5.0.exe and tried fresh install with deleting the old profile directory...

Now thunderbird doesnt start even with 0 profile..It doesnt start with safe mode too ! I cannot even go to profile manager (thunderbird.exe -p )

I dont know what to do!

I have found crash id but i cannot understand what the problem is! Can anyone help ?

Cannot send emails. I get this when I try: "An error occurred while sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: "Cannot connect to SMTP server 64.59.128.135 (64.59.128.135:587) connect error 10060" Running Win7 I can receive emails okay.. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

browser not supported when trying to log in to gmail

I use Thunderbird for all my email addresses, have for years. Never had an issue until today. I've been offline all weekend and have not received an email to any of my addresses since 04/29, 3 days ago. Is Thunderbird down? If not, how can I fix this?

Latest release Thunderbird 91.0.3 x64 hangs when entering Preferences. It is very slow scrolling after that and total hang on in a few seconds.

OS is Win 10 Pro x64 21H1.

Also I cannot find the way how to open Config Editor - there is no appropriate tab in Preferences (as far as I see before hang on).

Outgoing account sign-in disappears

Since the last TB update, which was 4 days ago, the credentials to send email for some accounts have vanished from the Passwords list.

That leads to the error in the attached photo. Editing or updating the SMTP settings has no effect.

Hi, I installed thunderbird beta around version 93 and since then the memory usage on my computer increased to take all of the free space when I open TB. Up to 30GB. I would like to get back to a non-beta version but cannot easily since i have old email accounts on it, no longer synchronised (I would not be able to download these emails again). I also guess that transferring the profile would result in the similar 30GB usage. I am now at TB 98 and still have that problem. I have tried the "remove duplicate messages" add-on which doesn't delete everything. I have multiple occurrences of the same emails with possibly altered content. Any way this could be fixed? Thanks a lot!
