I have Firefox version 80.0 installed and Thunderbird version 68 email app to view my email. All was working fine.---I click on Moz T-Bird logo on my Dell Windows 7 desktop computer and a screen appears showing all mail and folders, but now I cannot receive nor send any email. If I click on INBOX, I get a blue revolving circle that continues indefinitely without a message. If I click on SEND message, I receive a message which states: Peer using unsupported version of security protocol. The configuration related to mail.brainstorminternet.net must be corrected. I can log in to my ISP provider website which provides a web-based email interface and then log-in to view my mail. I called the company and checked to see if the IMAP was correct. It was. Hopefully you can offer some suggestions as to resolving this problem.

When clicking the button "Thunderbird" for opening the email-browser appears a massage-box containing this description: XML-Verarbeitungsfehler: Nicht definierte Entität Adresse: chrome://messenger/content/messenger.xhtml Zeile Nr. 1636, Spalte 9:

After appearance of this message it is unpossible to close it as well as procede in opening the Thunderbird-email-browser. All trials to restart the process or even to restart the operating system lead to the similar result. A reinstallation of Thunderbird-software did not lead to any change. For I can not use the email-browser, what means neither receiving nor sending of emails I would like to ask for instruction and support.

Starting within the last 2 weeks, I am having problems with the system hanging up when I try to download a file. It doesn't happen when I've first rebooted the computer, but after I've been using it for an hour or two. It also doesn't hang the entire computer (at least not at first); but just Firefox, Windows Explorer, and (if the download link was there) Thunderbird.

I'm using:

  Win10 Pro(x64) v1909 (build 18363.1016)
  Firefox v80.0.1 (64-bit)
  Thunderbird v68.12.0 (32-bit)

On a Dell Optiplex 7010 factory-refurb desktop pc with:

  3.40 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3570 processor
  16gb ram

The problem starts at the point where I'm supposed to tell the system where to put the file I'm downloading. The system defaults to "This PC", and usually to "Downloads". If it's going to hang, it does so on my next mouse-click, trying to go to the proper directory.

When the glitch happens, closing Firefox (if I can) will not solve it. When I try to open it again, it says Firefox is already running, even though it doesn't appear to be. Sometimes (but not always) I can open the Task Manager. The one time I succeded in doing so, I must have started either that download or a previous download from a Thunderbird email. Several Firefox processes were running. I tried to shut them all down, but one would not respond. Looking thru the other tabs, I found one Firefox.exe instance in the Details tab, and tried (but failed) to shut that down. So I started closing whatever other applications I had open, on the way to rebooting the system. But when I closed Thunderbird, the Firefox process & "Detail" instance both closed, and the glitch disappeared.

However, I don't think it can always be blamed on Thunderbird, because I think the glitch has happened at other times when Thunderbird was not open. All I really know is that both Firefox and Windows have updated on my pc (and on my Win7 laptop) within the last two weeks, and that's when the problem started.

To me it appears that this is an update-induced bug. I hope that this note helps someone to find that bug and kill it.

Hi, after creating a profile under tb 68.10.0 I had to use my profile on a server with tb 68.12.0 after returning to the workstation tried to open tb again, but tells me my profile was changed and wants to create a new one. Don't wanna do this . Want to go back to the original profile and keep on working with it. Tried to choose via ProfileManager, now both profiles don't start on both versions.  :-(

What infos do U need and what to do? regards jori gel

Hi. I'm using Thunderbird for the first time. I configured it with my Yahoo email account. The Thunderbird client shows a subset of the messages that are in the Yahoo inbox: Thunderbird does not show all of the messages that are in my Yahoo inbox.

Why is that? I must be doing something wrong because that's too big of a flaw to not be fixed. Can I run some kind of command to somehow sync my Thunderbird inbox with my Yahoo inbox?
