We have been using Thunderbird with a Cox email account. Cox has just transferred all its customers to Yahoo. I want to use Thunderbird with Yahoo. How do I set that up?

I have installed Thunderbird on a new (Windows 11) lap-top. When I get to "Account setup>>Set up existing email address", and enter my password, I get the response "Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database", but when I click "Done," there is a long hesitation on "Checking Password", and finally the message pops up "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I know my username and password are correct. All configurations appear to match those on my old lap-top. Server is att.net.

I prefer Thunderbird for composing, reading, and replying to emails, and have a decade's worth filed and stored locally on an older lap-top, which I will want to import.

Need to set up Thunderbird to receive emails from yahoo. Cox is transitioning emails to yahoo presently have two addresses : cliven@cox.net and daciaandclive@cox.net

Hi when I uninstall TB and re install it still has old accounts info. I want an empty TB to then bring in new accounts / email accounts

I recently reset my desk top and after that my thunderbird will not open without a password that I have not got. I need a simple way to find the password or otherwise allow me to reinstal a new download. I have tried for two days using lots of suggestions from web and help but I cant get past the request for a password

I have a friend who has been using the Outlook email client with her Gmail account. She's looking into moving to Thunderbird. Is it just a matter of... - making sure that IMAP is enabled in her Gmail account - installing Thunderbird - adding the Gmail account and credentials to Thunderbird

She's got lots of folders so is concerned that they won't be lost in the process.

Thunderbird 15.4.2 was made available today. Since 15.4.1 reintroduced bugs from 15.0 (Hot Mess Edition first push) that had been fixed by 15.3, and I had bugzillad one, I wondered if 15.4.2 had fixed the bug they introduced in 15.4.1. I installed it and clicked on the usual place for release notes, and got an error message -- that page doesn't exist! They always put out release notes when a new version comes out. This time they didn't. Things really seem to be falling apart at MZLA.

And no, they haven't fixed the bug. Mailnews_scroll... in advanced settings still works backwards (set it to false if you want it to work).

Hi, I'm having a problem with my email. It comes to me through my website Bradfraser.net, and is hosted by Viux. Apparently Viux went out of business a while ago and didn't tell anyone. My email stopped arriving at bradfraser@bradfraser.net two weeks ago and all attempts to rectify this have been stymied by my not having my dashboard info for the site, and I am unable to get it from Viux. (Which seems to have a bot answering questions.) Is there any way you can help me access this email account and get it running again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I created a Google Takeout file for my emails in my old gmail account which I am trying to import into my new gmail account, however the system does not allow me to split the files into smaller sections say 2-4GB which is what Thunderbird supports. I tried to submit for a 2-4GB split for the Google Takeout files and no luck...it always comes out in 2 files, one is a few MBs and the second file is over 40GB.

As I am trying to use ImportExport NG tool in the Local folders Mbox import, I get an error of Mbox All mail Including Spam and Trash-002.mbox larger than 4GB, skipping.

I've tried to find some online MBOX splitting tools, however no success as the file is too big and causing issues.

Any help with be much appreciated.

all of the sudden all messages are downloaded and immediately disappear. Also all folders appear empty. I cannot access anything I have saved, neither can I keep received messages in the mailbox.

I just downloaded the update (115.4.1), which has caused all kinds of problems. I can no longer automatically connect with my server, the typefaces have changed in my inbox, there are no longer 'get messages', 'reply', 'forward', 'write' buttons, etc. Can I simply remove this update? Thanks.

I can't seem to delete an old account on Thunderbird. It says it's a "special account" with no identity associated with it. Can someone help? I tried uninstalling and re-installing Thunderbird and the old account still appears.

I'm trying to set up a new protonmail account, too, and Thunderbird says it doesn't recognize the (correct) password. Is the old account causing the problem?

I have a 39 gig profile folder on a win7 computer and have copied it to a hard drive Trying to import to a win11 computer by importing from profile folder. Before anything moves I get an unexpected error with no explanation Don’t know if I need to try a little at a time or if that even matters

How do I downgrade to an older version of Thunderbird on Rocky Linux (RHEL clone)?

For my last update (yum update -y) I got Thunderbird 115 which has lots of problems.

If I try “yum downgrade thunderbird”, I get the error: Last metadata expiration check: 3:43:41 ago on Tue 14 Nov 2023 04:57:52 PM EST. Package thunderbird of lowest version already installed, cannot downgrade it. Dependencies resolve

I downloaded: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/102.9.1/linux-x86_64/en-US/thunderbird-102.9.1.tar.bz2 but when I unzip and click the thunderbird icon, Thunderbird doesn’t pick up my Thunderbird profile. I saw some windows downgrade tutorial that said to delete compatibility.ini from profile but when I deleted compatibility.ini Thunderbird still doesn’t pick my profile.

When I transferred my icloud email account to TB only a few of the 15 folders were transferred. Troubleshooting first with Apple, I was told to delete the account and re-create it. I did but that did not restore to lost folders. How can I get the rest of my folders to transfer?

When moving email servers from Webmail to Zoho, I logged in to all the emails I wanted to backup/copy on my machine and made a copy of the IMAP folder. Fast forward, I want to restore/read from these legacy emails locally on Thunderbird on a different installation, and I'm finding it difficult.

I copied the folders back into the IMAP folder of the new machine but nothing happened.

I would appreciate help with this restoration.

I use Thunderbird for my work email. Since early October, I have had difficulty accessing the internet using Thunderbird. I can access my work email account through the web, but that is a bit clunky. I have no problem accessing the internet via Firefox, and I can access my work email via Thunderbird if I use my phone as a personal hotspot. Is there a setting on Thunderbird I need to change, or is my problem more with my internet provider (Quantum Fiber)?
