Hello. Recently we switched our company's internal server from yandex.ru to mail.ru. Since then we have some issues with synchronization between computers. I am working with Thunderbird from my PC and laptop simultaneously. So there are the issues that accured: 1) I can't see Tags anymore at different devices. For example, if I tag a message at PC (with color and category) - it does not show up on laptop. 2) I can't see "Forward" sign when I forward messages from PC/laptop on other device. 3) Some of menu buttons such as "Drafts", "Sent" and others didn't translate in English (it stated in Russian as it was before) meanwhile "Inbox" and "Archives" are translated. Will appreciate any help and how to fix that.

This is a curious problem that I can't get my head around. I have TB installed on a Windows 7 PC, a Linux Mint 21 laptop and Linux Mint 21 on Virtualbox. I'd like to add it to a Windows 11 Surface Pro 7, but when I follow the usual procedure of coping the contents of the profile folder to the new direcory, TB launches as if nothing has changed and asks me for my email details as a new user. I have well over a dozen email accounts and several online calendars and Vcard contact lists and I don't want to manually add them all in. The OS is Windows 11 Home 22H2.
If anyone knows why this OS is refusing to let me copy & paste my TB profile is the same way that I've always done I'd be grateful. If not and anyone can recommend a backup / restore function that will copy the email accounts, online calendars and contact lists, I'd also be grateful.
If I didn't need Windows 11 for some of my work, I wouldn't be using it, I'd stick with Linux, but this is progress apparently. I hate Microsoft even though my work in I.T. relies on fixing Windows related issues.
Thanks in Advance.
Hello:
Godaddy has changed the serger from POP3 to Exchange, now Thunderbird does not work. How can I reconfigure it? Thank you very much.

I am trying to move email from one account to another. The email is in a folder structure which I would like to preserve. I would like to avoid having to recreate the folder structure by hand on the target; that would be very time consuming. I have been experimenting with a small nested set of folders before moving on to the real problem.
My first thought was to drag and drop the top level folder to local folders. First I checked that I could do it one folder at a time - no problem. If I try with a top level folder with sub-structure it only works if I specify that all sub folders are to be held locally. There is no way to mark a whole branch for local storage (that I have found), so that is a bit tedious running down the folder list ticking. So question 1: is there a better way.
Then I want to drag and drop from the local folders to the second account. For a single folder this works. For my small test folder with sub-structure it does not work.
It may be significant that the IMAP server for BOTH accounts (same server) does not support folders with both messages and sub-folders; the option "Server supports folders that contain sub-folders and messages" is therefore unticked for both accounts. I wonder if the information that a specific folder only contains sub-folders is lost in the move.
I then tried the ImportExportTools-ng plug-in. That suffered pretty much the same problem. I could export (same synchronise issue as above). I could import the result to Local Folders, but I could not import the same data to my target account.
I would be grateful for any other ideas.

Every time I try to send mails using my Microsoft365-Account, Thunderbird 102.11.0 fails to connect to the SMTP server at smtp.office365.com. Trying to set a new password from the dialogue just leads to the very same error message without enabling me to change or set a new password, leaving me stuck with the situation.
IMAP works fine and as intended.
Things I've tried so far:
All leading to the same warning, that my Login attempt for smtp.office365.com with user name abc@xyz.de has failed.
I've run out of options and leads. Any advice is appreciated.

I had a functioning thunderbird, but do to my host provider I had to change some of the configuration (had (owl) suffix). This left 2 profiles. The new profile wouldn't work until I deleted the original. I did a save so I have all the files, now which ones need to be restored. ( a full file backup prior to adding new profile so all org profile files are available)
A profile directory displays all of the folders, 2 files for each folder a MSF and an MBX. Some also have a file type of File.
Which has to be copied, will the folders be created with the copy or do I need to create them in thunderbird first ?

I have a problem with the import of my b/u profile into new install of tBird. I see the mail folder copied to my C:/, but I can't pull anything up in the new install. I let TBird accept the default of imap, and now find the mail:Local folders may be in POP. Is that why I can't pull them up in the program? If so, do I change the program from imap to Pop3, or is there some other way to get the old mail into right place. I'm sorry I've confused, been working on this all day and it's really a stretch for me. Thanks in advance. Stacy

Trying to transfer email accounts from old to new computer, but cannot access any messages on two accounts, both gmail, but a third has transferred correctly. One of those accounts contain additional folders accessible via the inbox. Followed instructions as shown on your transfer information page. Both Thunderbird instances are the same version. I can send and receive to the empty accounts and all others within Thunderbird. The account data is contained within the transferred Profiles/Mail folder but does not show within the program. All other data, including calendar events, have transferred successfully. Where have I gone wrong, or how can I remedy the situation?

Hello, I just installed Thunderbird 102 over a previous installation on Windows 10. I had 6 account/mailboxes. At the restart of Thunderbird, I had only 5. The account "katamail.com" is gone and I cannot see my messages. But they still are inside "E:\POSTA\Mail\pop.katamail-1.com\" . Or, at least, I hope so. There, there are the file Inbox and Sent of several megabytes. How could I recover that account? The other 5 have been read/recovered automatically... Many thanks for the support! Matteo

In the course of having my computer rebuilt, the techs had to wipe the C: drive and install a fresh, up-to-date copy of Windows 11. Needless to say, I have had to rebuild my software, one program at a time. After setting up Thunderbird, I was able to import the mail from a second machine on my network. However, that left me missing a large chunk of mail from earlier in 2023 and later 2022. In looking through all the profiles, I find that the messages whose date matches my missing mail are in appdata/roaming/thunderbird/profiles/default.sja. That directory contains two subdirectories, cache2 and mail. Under cache2 I have directories called doomed, which is empty, and entries, which has all of the messages whose dates match those that I am missing. My question is really simple -- how do I get those messages into my current user profile? I've tried the import tool, but that fails. I am at my wits end on this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I had to reinstall Thunderbird due to a computer issue. Thunderbird was uninstalled then down loaded and installed. I have confirmed with Spectrum, email server provider all the correct setting for the incoming and outgoing configurations. For the incoming the are IMAP, mail.brighthouse.com, port 993, connection SSL/TLS with authentication by Auto Detect. Outgoing is mail.brighthouse.com, port 587, connection Auto Detect, authentication by Auto Detect. Thunderbird program will not connect servers, message indicates email address, password or server information is incorrect. This information with Spectrum has been confirmed twice, multiple attempts have been made utilizing Spectrum's protocol and Thunderbird will not connect to servers. The latest attempt stated "Login to server mail.brighthouse.com with username failed" and is prompting me to provide the password, which is provided correctly and confirmed by logging in directly to Spectrum email with required password. Failure continues and I have been working on this for close to 4 hours. How do I solve this issue?

My main laptop is going into repair. It seems it's still running 32-bit version 102.11.0 Backup laptop is running 64-bit version of the same version Tried copying profile, got the couldn't read profile popup Tried importing, that succeeded, but files are missing. For example, source inbox has 14 emails, destination had 9. I'm assuming that this is a 32-bit/64-bit issue. But before I do something stupid, I want to check in with the group. My thinking is to back-up the Thunderbird folder where the profile is located on my source PC and then upgrade to the 64-bit version. My concerns are: 1-Not sure why I'm still running 32-bit and didn't automatically update to 64-bit 2-Exactly how to do this (just download and install the 64-bit)? But will that happen using Thunderbird Setup 102.11.0.exe, even though the same version is installed. 3-I won't be able to open my profile on any version of Thunderbird.
