First off, I am using Windows 10 and TB 102.6.1, Thunderbird needs to use the GoDaddy outlook Office 365 server on the Webb. When I try to install TB 102.8.0 or TB 102.9.0 all seems to install fine. When I then go to use TB, I get an error "Authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com". When I re-install TB 102.6.1, all works again. I'm 76 and this stuff seems to be going over my head. Any ideas of what I need to do? BTW, my account for Gmail mail works fine but does not use any outlook settings

Passwords will be the same, for example. I'll want both of them to get all Contact data from Google Contacts. (I don't use the Calendar.)

Moving to a new (Win 11) PC I accidentally typo'd a password when adding account. Now I can not do anything with that account. It seems partly installed but does not show up so I can't remove it. Trying to add that account again I get 10 minutes if "checking password" then "Incoming server already exists". I tried deleting Firefox completely from Control Panel, but it retained all the old account data and still will not allow the account to be added. Have wasted HOURS trying to understand lots of answered questions but nothing answers my question. The only thing I have discovered is an "Account 2" "normal password" in the further Troubleshooting results, along with the two other accounts that are operating correctly, But I can not delete "Account 2" Appreciate your help, thanks. I deleted my only TB profile on purpose. My aim was to reinstall the TB software and ImportExportTools NG, so I could start over clean and this time connect to the new gmail account I had intended to use). However each time I attempt to reinstall TB, I'm told the profile is missing, and that's needed to progress any further. I am stuck. I am on MacOS Monterey, I am brand new to TB, and I am not techie at all. I did search profile-related advice and found a heap of info, but not that I could follow). I would guess that the site which thunderbird checks for updates is out of sync with the general download website, or the software gets confused when it is running continuously for more than a day.

I want to transfer my email accounts and profiles from my Windows 10 machine to my Mac. Import failed. Following the instructions on Mozilla's site, I searched for my profiles folder on my Windows machine. Contrary to the instructions, which said there was ONE profile folder, there are 2: one in the "Roaming" folder and another in the "App Data > Local" folder. I copied both onto a usb stick, plugged the stick into my Mac installed Thunderbird, pointed Thunderbird to one of the 2 Thunderbird folders on my usb, and hit "import". Import failed. "Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console". I have no idea where or what the Error Console is.
Any suggestions as to how to successfully migrate my profiles will be gratefully accepted.

I have used Thunderbird successfully on my Windows 7 PC for many years. I now have a Windows 10 PC and am trying to install Thunderbird on it (no problem there) and then transfer all info - old emails, address book, etc. - but having tried all the various "solutions" published I am unable to achieve transfer. Is it in fact possible to do this, from one Windows system to another? The Mozilla Backup program has worked well in the past, but that was only between similar Windows machines. Am I trying to do the impossible?

What I would like to do is to revert from 102 to a version without all the new bells and whistles, obviously without losing any of the history of the emails that have come and gone over the years. Hi there ! Please help. I exported old emails to my hard drive from Thunderbird in 2017. I need to access them urgently and have tried to IMPORT them as "Import from another Thunderbird installation" as a "profile folder." Please see image attached of the THE EXPORTED ARCHIVED EMAIL FILES I am trying to import.
Any ideas how I can upload these archived emails so that I can easily access them ?

Have used Tbird with my TTalk account for years. On previous re-installs of Win10, TT password has always been tricky- I seem to remember something about a Certificate having to be changed. Anyway that was then. Now, after numerous attempts, including changing TT password, Tbird is stubbornly refusing to acknowlege the TT password, which works fine to give direct access on the TT email site.
My user name and all the incoming and outgoing server settings are fine and reecognised by Tbird on attempted import of my TT account. It is just the Password- Tbird tries in vain to recognise it on this final part of the import set up, and eventually it gives a message saying that the password appears incorrect. Which of course it isn't.
Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks.

Since I bought my first laptop, I have only used Mozilla thunderbird and firefox. I am thinking about buying an apple MacBook Pro notebook. However I will not purchase an apple laptop unless I can install Mozilla thunderbird and firefox on it. If this is not possible, I will purchase another PC because I am addicted to Mozilla.
