Thunderbird on my top of the range Win11 laptop was working perfectly until it self-updated to 115.10.1 a couple of days ago. Accessing messages already in the various folder is fast as usual. Unfortunately anything like deleting, downloading a new message is excruciatingly slow : several seconds to click and delete in the inbox. Several seconds to access a message just downloaded. The first time it happened I had a whole bunch of messages deleted because the I kept clicking when I saw no action. It seems to me like it has problem updating the messages in the inbox. Very painful for something that was working so well.

My wife and I each have our own Thunderbird accounts. They were created a long time ago, at different times. I’m pretty sure that they were not set up identically. She has recently experienced a problem: the number of new emails downloaded (as shown in the lower left corner of the screen) doesn’t match with the number of new and unread emails listed in the Inbox (the emails shown in boldface). Something else, though I think related: In the upper left corner of the screen, on the same line as the word Inbox, is a small circle with a number inside. I think that number gives the number of unread emails in the Inbox. Her number shows 20 but the actual number (boldface) is 15. Is this a serious problem? Is it a problem at all? If so, how to fix it? Thanks.

When receiving emails they appear as normal but in the background is another email of a couple of pages which has sender and receiver details at the top then lines of letters making no sense for the rest of the message.

I'm trying to use Thunderbird to access my work emails directly. They use Outlook Office 365, which I can use the webmail version of just fine, but a year ago they upgraded to Oauth2 and MFA and for the life of me I cannot get any version of Thunderbord to work with it anymore. I can send an email, but I can access any email on the server. Weirder still is the error console message suggest the program thinks I cancelled my password entry;

I have set up my own domain guytec.org using Namecheap. The alias for email is tguy. I have pointed this new email to my gmail address. I can receive emails into my thunderbird Gmail box from tguy@guytec.org. I want to write emails with sent from tguy@guytec.org showing? How??

Since installing Ubuntu 23.10 on my new desktop pc, Thunderbird is failing to see the account details in .thunderbird I copied all the files from my backup into a new account directory (/home/cfi/.thunderbird/y4xyxmli.default), a technique that has worked many times in the past, but not this time. Previously, thunderbird has simply taken the settings from the backed up files and used those to connect to my organisation's mail server. Any ideas? How can I force Thunderbird to read the old account settings?

Poczta Thunderbird nie ściągą nowych wiadomości, usuwane teraz stare, wracają do folderów głównych. Przy odbieraniu wiadomości pojawia się komunikat jak na zdjęciu. Ostatnia wiadomość pobrano ok. 100razy.

Hi. When replying to an e-mail, Thunderbird has started to place to input cursor in the TO field instead of the message text field (in this case it should be before the answered text).

Any ideas? BR Johnny

When I delete an email, it usually goes to the trash, so I can find it again. Now the emails are deleted permanently and disappear. How can I keep my emails in the trash? Sincerely Helle

Using 115.10.1 and POP on Windows 10 Pro (v. 22H2) with just the Windows built-in virus protection enabled (but App or Browser Control is disabled). Platform seems stable, no evidence of nefarious services noted in task manager.

Realized the emails in InBox from a couple of days ago (and going back decades) were blank or had mismatched headers to content. Figured an index problem. Ran the Repair under 'InBox' folder Properties, and only a few of the most recent emails remain - all duplicates of which I had sorted into other folders.

All the other folders are fine - just my InBox got wiped! Looked in the Thunderbird folder under profiles and saw the above captioned with a time-stamp that captures the approximate time this went down - occum's razor. I did not initiate any update to Thunderbird.

Walking on eggshells and very nervous, we're talking thousands of emails, what is the recommended recovery of the InBox (after I attempt to backup what I have left). Thanks!

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike
