I looked through the help files but still have no formatting toolbar when trying to create my signature in order to format the font, color, ...etc. I set me messages to be sent in HTML and checked the box in Account Settings to use HTML too. I can type my signature content but there is no formatting bar at all. I'm using the TB new beta 60 version.

Some received emails need to be answered inline. They could be HTML or text. The received email is almost always black text, so I want my reply to be in red, blue, maybe green, while the received text is in its original color. I've tried various setting changes in Tools/Options/Composition & Display. I also have my View/Text Encoding set to Unicode. thanks, Ron

I used MS Access VBA command docmd.sendobject to send SMS type to SMS gateway. If I use the option "view mail", so that the mail window opens, the mail is sent as "plain text" as needed. However if I set to "view mail" disabled, basically the mail is passed through, and is sent as HTML and therefore rejected. In Thunderbird I have both types of mail in my email sent box. I have set in the Thunderbird general Options already everything to plein text and even indicated the "sms.at" as domain for plein text. Question is: As it does not work, what do I have to set, that all mails (also mails generated with a command from external source) and not opened with "View Window" are sent as PLAIN TEXT? Why in Thunderbird or in any other known email client software, do I have to create a new email using "forward" or copy-paste, in order to resend an email that for some reason, like the destination server mail was down, did not reach the destination and has to be resend again? Why not create an option or a button for "resend", that just repeats the email and sends it again to the destination email addresses? It seems a basic option that should exist in every email client software, but unfortunately it does not exist.

I have emails that ask for certian items to be addressed such as "please fix leak in bath sink" and then the next line will have another request and on and on. I would like to answer each question at the end of each line with a response (preferably in a different color font to stand out) such as "yes - will fix" or "that can't be done" or "you will have to fix that yourself". Then I want to send that reply back to the original sender.

I can't find anything in Thunderbird that will allow me to change this. The normal width scrollbar is probably set in Windows settings.

I would like to turn off the automatic open of email messages in Thunderbird. When I close or move or delete a message, the next message or the last message automatically opens. I don't want that. I want to be able to open messages individually.

I have several message filters set up for one of my email accounts, and would like to copy them to the other one rather than rebuild them from scratch. Is this possible? Thank you!

I have folders in Gmail for work, personal, business, etc, and my contacts are all members of related groups. Or I can set up mailing lists in Thunderbird that are similar. I want to make a filter that has a command "if sender is member of XXX group, moves XXX folder." Other mail clients allow me to do so. Can Thunderbird?

OK, seen lots of articles on creating a new calendar in Lighting. They all say file-> New -> calender. The File menu in the drop down at the top left does not have a New option. It does talk about Task Mode and I have no idea what this is (nor does goggle).

Why can't you select by name column and have the email address autofilled from the email column? Email address could still show where needed to send out the document. Currently you always select from the email address column.

I'm new to Thunderbird so this is pretty basic I know, but? I want to set the font style, size, and (color although that doesn't seem to be an available option) and make them my default for all newly composed emails. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

TBIRD displays my search results in a new tab. This removes the context of my search from the historical flow of emails It also clutters the window with unneeded information. Remembering that computers are to assist us, not complicate our lives, I need TBIRD to highlight results in the INBOX tab. I can then quickly scroll or jump to each to find the match I need. Once found, I can then sort based on Address, Subject etc, to bring together just the emails I need. Additionally, I am able to find a particular email with all the date related emails around it. I am endeavoring to be empathetic that some of y'all want a separate tab for the results. However, I wish to politely note that my way yields more tools. Can we live on the same globe with what we both need?
