I have emails that ask for certian items to be addressed such as "please fix leak in bath sink" and then the next line will have another request and on and on. I would like to answer each question at the end of each line with a response (preferably in a different color font to stand out) such as "yes - will fix" or "that can't be done" or "you will have to fix that yourself". Then I want to send that reply back to the original sender.

I used MS Access VBA command docmd.sendobject to send SMS type to SMS gateway. If I use the option "view mail", so that the mail window opens, the mail is sent as "plain text" as needed. However if I set to "view mail" disabled, basically the mail is passed through, and is sent as HTML and therefore rejected. In Thunderbird I have both types of mail in my email sent box. I have set in the Thunderbird general Options already everything to plein text and even indicated the "sms.at" as domain for plein text. Question is: As it does not work, what do I have to set, that all mails (also mails generated with a command from external source) and not opened with "View Window" are sent as PLAIN TEXT? I have several message filters set up for one of my email accounts, and would like to copy them to the other one rather than rebuild them from scratch. Is this possible? Thank you!

Please look at the pictures: 1. the image "Thunderbird Address Book scrollbar is extremely narrow.png" shows the new Address Books scrollbar 2. the image "Example of normal width scrollbar.png" shows the scrollbar within a particular Address Book

I can't find anything in Thunderbird that will allow me to change this. The normal width scrollbar is probably set in Windows settings.

Made a mistake by changing user_pref("layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" from I think - 0.5 to +0.5 as incoming emails font was miniscule, but made nor difference... so thought it may be a font size, so changed to 12.... Now ginormous and unreadable. Searched through pages here for an answer and got to the prefs.js folder to find this file but it is not there.... I searched with notepad edit search for "layout" but no luck. Any ideas anyone? I tried adding the line user_pref("layout.css.devPixelsPerPx", "1.5"); whilst TB was closed and then opened TB but had made no difference.. :-( Any ideas anyone? TIA Graham

If this option makes emails sent from Thunderbird to any other email client have arbitrary line breaks where the line changes in the view of the composer. Please explain to me like I am 5, why is this ON by default? I just spent hours wording and formatting a work email vital for my career just to find out it will most likely look like a poem to the person that reeds it. This mailnews.wraplength "feature" looks a lot like is there to signal to other non-Thunderbird users to use Thunderbird. I really really hope there is a good explanation for why `mailnews.wraplength` exists and is on by default.

OK, seen lots of articles on creating a new calendar in Lighting. They all say file-> New -> calender. The File menu in the drop down at the top left does not have a New option. It does talk about Task Mode and I have no idea what this is (nor does goggle).

what are they doing to TB? v60.3.1

the thing that made it great was the addons.

now most of the addons don't work in v60.3.1

brilliant - who's bright idea was that?

why didn't they look at the most popular addons and include them in the code, configurable in the options.

why wasn't minimize to the system tray the default? or at least an option?

who wants a big icon sitting in the task bar at the bottom of the screen?

why doesn't it start minimized in the system try?

addons provided all this but now they don't work!!!!

i can't find a version of the calendar for v60.

also the new programing team break firefox in nearly every release.

i spend more time trying to sort out the mess every time they update things.

now i have to waste time trying to sort out TB60

time to look for alternatives to both i think. :-(

i have been using Thunderbird for a very very long time but this release takes the biscuit!!!! so very annoyed they are breaking it all the time.

will have to see if i can go back to whatever version was before, but that may mess things up so much it may not be worth the hassle. may lose all my contacts and emails!!!!!

may be simpler to switch to another email client.

also the write wind sometimes comes up in a narrow window, or sometimes things just dont work and i have to restart TB.

i want the exit X to minimize not exit, yet another addon that no longer works!!!!!!

what a mess

I have folders in Gmail for work, personal, business, etc, and my contacts are all members of related groups. Or I can set up mailing lists in Thunderbird that are similar. I want to make a filter that has a command "if sender is member of XXX group, moves XXX folder." Other mail clients allow me to do so. Can Thunderbird?

I am using Thunderbird 24.4.0 on a MacBook Mountain Lion. I have three email accounts - about to drop one having changed provider. Each account has different message pane buttons, not by intention, none have the full set, and the full set cannot be restored by right-clicking to customize and selecting 'restore default set'. Why can't you select by name column and have the email address autofilled from the email column? Email address could still show where needed to send out the document. Currently you always select from the email address column.

I'm new to Thunderbird so this is pretty basic I know, but? I want to set the font style, size, and (color although that doesn't seem to be an available option) and make them my default for all newly composed emails. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I set Server Settings to "Just mark it as deleted" when I delete a message. But after a minute, it disappears from the Inbox. This started right after a Win 10 reinstall. Using IMAP.

TBIRD displays my search results in a new tab. This removes the context of my search from the historical flow of emails It also clutters the window with unneeded information. Remembering that computers are to assist us, not complicate our lives, I need TBIRD to highlight results in the INBOX tab. I can then quickly scroll or jump to each to find the match I need. Once found, I can then sort based on Address, Subject etc, to bring together just the emails I need. Additionally, I am able to find a particular email with all the date related emails around it. I am endeavoring to be empathetic that some of y'all want a separate tab for the results. However, I wish to politely note that my way yields more tools. Can we live on the same globe with what we both need?
