In my attempt to help my wife with her email problems I have managed to totally screw up her profile. There now duplicate inboxes, duplicate local folders, duplicate Outlook Express Import files, etc.

Is it feasible to export/backup the inbox, address book, files&folders, Outlook Express Import files (but not the profile), then uninstall Thunderbird in order to start over? If so, how is the best way to do this?

She only has one email account on Thunderbird and is running Windows 10.

I recently changed ISP carriers (from Network Solutions to Intermedia). The transfer was slow but everything worked just fine. Then, a few weeks later, I received a notice from "Esquilla" asking me to sign up & pay, which I did not do. Monday morning, my Thunderbird email was frozen. I was able to go to the ISP's online portal to access my email and still can but I prefer Thunderbird which I have been using for decades. Mozilla has always been free other than donations. Is Esquilla a part to Mozilla? Tim J tim@jgia.net

I want to delete a mail folder from an IMAP server. When clicking "Delete" in right-click menu, Thunderbird tries to move it to trash. This fails for folders that are shared from another user with error "[CANNOT] Renaming not supported across non-private namespaces". When I switch the "When I delete a message" setting to "Remove it immediately" the folder is deleted correctly. Is it possible to do this just for folders? I tried Shift+Delete and holding Shift while clicking Delete but both did not work, Thunderbird tried and failed to move the folder to trash as usual. It would however be most useful if after failing to move the folder to trash it would give me an option to delete it permanently instead.

I have two computers, one older with TB 115.9.0 32 bit, pop. The other has 115.9.0 64 bit, imap, same email address. I have tried to merge them, but when i do the Thunderbird Import folder has zero messages and no subfolders. I also tried changing the old TB to IMAP, didnt work: "configuration problem". Any help would be appreciated.

A: All these problems started after the new email version was installed, in-other-words, when the old version was updated! B: All of my email that was in my account / on my computer seem to be be there as far as I can tell. I can get to them, I can open them and see their contents. C: All is ok up til this point...as mentioned above and no new email has arrived. D: Now, as soon as I click on the "Get Messages" (Icon, looks like a cloud) in the upper left corner, is when I the Yahoo page of some sort pops on the screen, that's it. No mail arrives and I'm stuck with the Yahoo page covering most of the screen. E: I can click click around and try entering my email address but when I click on F: I see that images can be attached, and hope it works. My screen are,1920 x 1080, so I'll try and reduce the size of the images when I attach them. G: (Image A) After I inter my email address the red wording pops up.

it becomes vicious circle and normally going back to the first page. (Note: A image) [about:blank] ??? Other pages have an address??? H. In these 4 days I have changed, added, deleted, used my Mozilla Reset Key, and this morning, per Mozilla's - Thunderbird's request, created another Reset key. Still no email. I do believe If this Yahoo thing was gone my email might start, just a guess now. H. Will all of the email that has not arrive still be available?? I. Almost forgot to mention. With a simple mis-keystroke I deleted ALL but 1 email in my inbox... Oddly though this contained years on emails it only took a few seconds?!

So I immediately went into the profile in the roaming folder for windows 10 and searched for a backed up copy of the inbox... assuming that Thunderbird would do such a thing as I have seen in other email clients.

I found nothing like that. I searched everywhere I could think of for some old inbox file that would contain the emails or at least most of them... NOTHING. I just have never seen a client that didn't make routine backups of the data files.

Am I missing something? Is there a file somewhere?

when i write a new mail i have this kind of letters , by sent or received mail, the letters are different, see my two screenshots. how can i install that the letters in a written mail are the same in each group?

TB v115.8.0 (64-bit) Closed the app and went to dinner Came back and opened the app. All the tasks are GONE!!!

I know TB keeps everything in text files, so I found the "calendar-data" folder and opened some files using NOTEPAD.EXE to find keywords I know represent my tasks. Sure enough, the data is there in the sqlite files.

What's the secret code that simply decides to not open those files and populate my task window?

why om last updates all my hotmail accounts keep asking me for passwords ? everytime i need to login... your older version was best then this.. i think you make updates with problems , how can i get the older version only ?

I just subscribed to some feeds on Thunderbird for the first time and it seems like the maximum number of articles downloaded per feed is 25. How do I change this? (Screenshot of the number of messages per feed.)

Hi all!

Few days ago Thunderbird start consume 100% and GUI freeze. After restart program/OS, GUI works for few seconds (3-5) and freeze again. I've try to run program with --headless option but still it consume 100% CPU. I've delete cache directory and it didn't fix a problem.

I have been using Thunderbird with multiple POP accounts for about 15 years with few problems.

Since upgrading to the latest version, with was about a week ago, emails are downloaded again and again, for as long as they remain on the server, which is for most accounts 7 days.

I can see the emails are marked as read on the server (my host is X-10 Infinity and been using them for 4 years), but every time Thunderbird connects to the server, it downloads all the messages again.

My mailboxes are filling up with duplicate messages, sometimes 10+ copies of each one. I haven't changed any settings on the server or in Thunderbird, so not sure what is causing this.

If I click to Get Messages manually, Thunderbird only downloads 1 or 2 messages, if anything. But for some reason when the scheduled connect runs (for example: every 30 minutes) it seems to pull down all messages in the POP mailbox again and again.

Is there anything I can set or change to fix this please, or is this a bug you are working on?

I really don't want to change so I download messages from the server and delete them immediately rather than in 7 days as this allows me to have a backup in case my computer needs to have a re-install.

If I shut down thunderbird by mistake and restart it, my Gmail can't be read. There is a blue line at the bottom showing it is trying to do something, but it never finishes. I close every running program, reboot, and it works fine until I mistakingly shut it down again. I have several accounts and get hundreds of emails every day. I try to keep deleting them, empty trash, and compact folders. My Imap folders in my profile are huge. Many gigabytes. I plan to migrate to a new computer and don't want to move whatever is wrong to the new computer. This means I will have to start fresh, set up the accounts, fix the signature files, etc. Then I can export the address book and import them to the new computer. This will be very time consuming. Is there some way I can delete the saved emails from the profile file and copy the rest of the profile over?

Running TB 115.4.1 (64-bit), POP3 account, up until this morning everything was fine.

Now getting msg - "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

Have more than 70 Gb free on my drive. Have tried: -deleting messages and compacting the inbox. -using TB's built-in repair folder utility. -deleting and re-creating the global-messages-db.sqlite file in my profile

Have logged into my email with my browser and can't find anything wrong with the account itself. Everything seems ok on that end.

Nothing has worked. Any other suggestions?
