Last week, sometime, I received ALL the emails, that have come into my "mailbox", from about the time I purchased my latest computer, several years ago. There must be hundreds, if not thousands, of the little critters. All arranged alphabetically, starting with the letter "a". So far, the ONLY solution I've found from "Thunderbird Help", is to 1. Open inbox 2. Select [left click] one of the repeated emails. 3. This high lights the email in BLUE. 4. Select BOTH "CONTROL & A" KEYS at the same time. 5. This highlights the WHOLE PRESENT page of emails in BLUE. 6. The instructions then say to press the "DELETE" key. 7. Question is- IF I PRESS THE "DELETE" key, will that just delete the emails on this page, OR delete EVERY email in my entire "inbox"? The only OTHER remedy I've tried, is to send the unwanted emails, ONE at a time, to the "TRASH" folder, then empty the "TRASH" folder, when I get 10-15 emails in it. That could take a VERY long time. Thunderbird auto updated to 115.10.1 and now it is behaving strangely.

1. The Message Filter has "Junk" at the bottom of the list of filters and anything that is not sent to a folder gets sent to the Junk folder. Instead all the junk is going to the Inbox.

2. Folders that have new email show up in blue highlighted folder as they should. But if I select those emails and read them, they remain highlighted but without the blue color.

3. Sometimes when I delete an email after reading, it deletes for a moment and then returns to the folder as unread. Multiple attempts to delete fail.

I have latest Thunderbird version (115.9.0 64bit) on fully patched Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS.

I'm trying to get it to display Day-of-Week for old messages - is this possible? I have tried all sorts of combination as detailed HERE to no avail.

I'd like concise instructions on how to do this (if it can be done). I do not believe trying a new profile will work as I need to test this for old messages - at least for messages older than a week.

From the link above, I can the Day-of-Week to work for the current week - but that only displays the day and time. What I'm after is as shown in the attached Outlook screenshot. Also see the closest I can get that to match in the Thunderbird screenshot.

Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a way to change the behavior of the pop-up reminder window in Calendar. When I have missed reminders (e.g. a task set for today at 8am and it is now 9am), the task is visible in the reminder window that pops up every time a reminder is active. This is fine. But if there is a past reminder (not resolved), every time I add a new task (or edit a past task) to the calendar, the pop-up reminder window opens and comes to the front. Let me describe the example: I missed (knowingly) a reminder at 8AM. Now, at 9 AM I need to add 3 new tasks to the Calendar. After setting (or copying, editing) each new task, the pop-up reminder window is focused on the front. Can I change this behavior so that the reminder window only pop up when the reminder is due and not in the case a new task is set up or old one edited?

Already invested time creating some html code for email signature on thunderbird. Wanted to create something prepared for dark modes on IOS. Everything was fine until I detected on IOS (dark mode)some white rectangles outside my email signature code. It´s a problem that I cannot solve because it´s outside my code, and I´m wondering if you are already aware of this issue.

'just added 2nd gmail address to Thunderbird. Suddenly getting verification requests. I go through that process then asked for phone # for verification code only to be told the number already used too many times . Now what?

Junk, Bin, Deleted confusion in email account There is confusion in Settings regarding Junk,Spam, Bin,or Deleted. When setting up Spam checks it refers to Junk folder where I have customarily used Spam folder and or Deleted/ Bin folder options which am now not able to set in the options available. An IMAP mail system is configured on a server running Debian 12. While there are never any problems via webmail, reception and sending work occasionally via Thunderbird 115.9. Even in "Troubleshooting Mode" it doesn't work. The server has good hardware characteristics and there are no applications that can slow it down, nor do I think it is a firewall problem or incorrect parameters otherwise it would never work. The error is related to timeout reaching the server. What can I check to find out where the problem is?

Hello My Thunderbird failed pop access to my Gmail account, at beginning of month. Any try to fix, and even change from pop to imap don't work. I get the windows as shown i images as result. I don't like see oauth/legacy/consent in the URL. - Change setting in Google from pop to imap - Cookie setting updated as forum suggest - JavaScript true as forum suggest

Hello from one of my mails I can`t see the external issues. I gave permission to show all content in the mail, and that was stored in the list permission to show all external content, but still the content is not shown. Can you please help me, and tell me what I can do so I can see all the external issues in the mail.

My Thunderbird email on my PC will only open intermittently in the last few days. Re-starting my computer sometimes helps, but only temporarily. There are no error messages- just nothing happens. I am still able to access email on other devices - just not on PC - which I use a lot. I'd be grateful for ideas of how to fix this. Thank you, Pam Rycroft

Will there ever be an option in the calendar to schedule links to video conferencing platforms like zoom or teams or google meet?

Lot's of other 'smart' calendars have this as an option. For example, when I use google calendar on a browser there is a zoom plugin so when I schedule an appointment it automatically generates a meeting invite for the attendees and put the meeting on my zoom app.

I know that this is probably reliant more on the companies [Google, Microsoft, Zoom] to make an extension for this, but it would be great if this could be implemented in the future.

Hello. I have my outlook.com account set up in Thunderbird 115.10.1. When I delete emails in Thunderbird from my inbox, they disappear and they go to the Deleted folder in Thunderbird as they should, but they aren't deleted on the Outlook server. I can still see them in my inbox if I use my Outlook app on my phone. I must delete them using my phone.

If I delete an email on my Outlook app on my phone, they disappear immediately in Thunderbird, which is correct. In other words, it works correctly if I delete from my phone, but not from Thunderbird.

My server settings are: Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Server Name: outlook.office365.com Port: 993 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: OAuth2 When I delete a message: Move it to this folder: Deleted on <myaccount>@outlook.com

All of a sudden, over 6 months of my "deleted" items dropped off. I like to keep up to 9 months items for history reference if needed. Is this an automatic thing, or if, can it be adjusted by settings?

I need the option to convert message date to local time on forwarding, instead of UTC + - from the original header.

This is the expected behavior in every other client I have used.

Even if the original sender is in the same city as me, chances are their originating server could be somewhere else and their originating time preference may not be set correctly. So it's more useful and logical to end user to show that in my local time zone.

Please, at least make it a user preference option.

Until recently when a spam email was received, I could go to my Message Filters and one set up as DELETE. After entering the spam email address I could then select RUN NOW and the spam email would be deleted. When I click RUN NOW at present nothing happens. How can I get this filter to work again.

(TLDR; Questions in bold at the bottom)

I currently have just a desktop Mac. I recently switched from Apple Mail to Thunderbird to read three email accounts: iCloud, gmail & a university account. I had previously used rules at the server level on my iCloud account, and this caused hella pain during the migration, including some zombie rules that I think I have isolated to Thunderbird. I deleted the rules from iCloud, removed the iCloud account from Thunderbird, restarted and then re-added it to Thunderbird. So far, so good, although I had to resubscribe to the draft, junk and trash folders (all other than the inbox) for some reason.

I have decided to experiment with not using rules or folders at all, and instead use local saved searches in Thunderbird. This will make my life easier when I get a laptop, which is inevitable. Two machines reading the same IMAP emails with rules can get weird.

Can I copy/paste existing saved search folders, so I can do similar searches just by making minor changes to the search terms? If so, how?

Yesterday, whenever I tried to open Thunderbird I got a This app will not open on your PC Windows error, and Word and Excel would not work. Apparently I had some Windows 10 problems which I was able to repair with Windows Resource Protection. Thunderbird now runs, but all 2000 of my Inbox messages do not appear. If I open my Mail folder in my Profile, I see the four folders inbound.att.net, inbound.att-1.net, inbound.att-2.net, and inbound.att-3.net The size of each of these inbound Mail folders is 5MB, 9.8GB, 38MB and 20MB. So, all of the missing Inbox emails are in the inbound.att-1.net folder but they don't show up. I tried deleting the .msf file. That didn't help.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
