When I forward an email, the body text is gray just like the signature text, not black. Replies and compositions all look fine. Any idea how to correct this issue?

Hi is there an add-on or can the settings of Thunderbird be changed so that when an email notification on macos comes through, it shows the first few words of an email. This is helpful for receiving verification codes. You can know it just by a glance at the notification rather than open the email.

At the moment it shows the email from and subject but not the first few words of the email body (unlike iOS).

I have two identical instances of the Thunderbird 115.11.0 (64-bit) installed on Fedora 40 (two different boxes) They display Email preview differently (See attached pictures)

Anybody knows how to change that view? What settings?

This last week one of my inboxes started to group my emails by Today, Last 7 days,Last 14 day and Older. I find no option to change that back to showing all the emails in date order like my other email accounts. The other posts on this topic that I can find are all for older versions that I don't see the commands for in my version.

I am using version 115.11.1 - 64 bit.

It used to be that we would see - in the account tree - a number telling us how many emails we have available to read. As you would open an email, this number would automatically reduce.

Now, not only do we get this email count, but I am getting an email count of ALL the email in an account folders (Inbox, Sent, Received, etc.). I don't know who invented this, but I do not want it.

How can I go back to Thunderbird only showing me my unread emails available?

I can't paste the link I get from Dropbox to connect FileLink for Dropbox into my settings. Why not? Even when I type the very long string by hand, it will not connect. What am I doing wrong? Is there a step I am missing? I really need this feature. Thanks- Pat Stoll

I have several sub-folders connected to my "Inbox". How do I have specific incoming mail sent directly to the different sub-folders? I had no problem doing this prior to Thunderbird 115.1 taking over my previous edition. Tried following the instructions under Settings but it wasn't very helpful.

Hello, ive been using T'Bird as my business email client.

Whenever I hit send it requires me to type the password in. How can i get it to remember it? Ive been through the settings and there is no option to save.

Ive tried deleting my account and adding a new one but its no different.

when I search for Quicktext Tutorials i see a nicely working application which allows me to manage text components and include them neatly in my writing. But what is actually showing after installation is a bit meager.

I can choose between "variables" and "other". ""Variables" is of no use at all, Other" simly allowes me to include a saved file in text or html from a folder. Well, thats a bit stoneage like, but I would have worked with that option, but:

Unfortunately, there is no way that Quicktext will save textsnippets as html or text. I definitely do not see myself copying parts of emails into notepad and saving them manually. That would be a very lame automation and definitely not quick enough ;). Also I am looking for the sort of "preview" Outlook is offering with Quick Parts.

Does anyone know anything about this problem or can recommend a better addon? I hate writing the same stuff again and again and again.

Cox.com has decided to no longer have their own email server and switched their accounts to yahoo. I can read my email directly on Yahoo, but can't get their imap to work. I changed the imap and smtp settings to yahoo. Also, the email login has changed and I changed that in Thunderbird. With Cox, the login was just "username" and now it is "username@cox.net". When I made these changes in the account settings, my email account has disappeared from the inbox, but it is still in account settings. I am using a unified inbox with several accounts.

Cox will not help me with this, and I have been on hold with yahoo for an hour with no response. I have been messing with this for two days so I hope you can help me.

I've set up an SMTP relay with SendGrid and have added it to as an Outgoing SMTP server, but there's not password challenge and it does not appear in the from options when I go to send an email. Is there any way to do this? I have three standard email accounts set up which all appear normally in both the SMTP selection menu and from dropdown.

I added a PNG picture as a background to my emails. Instead of a single background picture, it produces a collage (can't think of another word) of multiple copies of the same picture. Any way to just get a single picture?

I use the global search a lot (when it works!) I don't like the way the results are displayed so I always click 'show results as list'. Is there a way to make that the default way search results are displayed? thanks

I have stayed on an old version of TB because of the old extensions that made it a much better product.

With the installation of Win 11 I decided to try the latest version of TB. I have to say I am not impressed. I forgot how much better TB was with the extensions.

My first question is how do I get to sort the order of items I see in TB? I want News & Feeds to be displayed above my email accounts. It would seem that this would be easy but I cannot find a way of doing it. What am I not understanding? Surely this should be simple? I want to choose the order of everything.

I also customised the interface with better scrollbars etc. None of the add-ons I used to use seem to work with the latest TB. At the moment the new install of TB is incredibily ugly. How do I change that?

Any addon I use to open a tab with Google Chat, Keep, Calendar or Messages results in opening the Google Account Help page. Including apps that let you add links to Spaces. If I click the sign in button it just reloads the page. I have zero issues signing into those in my browser.
