This is the message I get when trying to send emails: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: pgbentley101@gmail.com recipient rejected. Please check the message recipient "pgbentley101@gmail.com" and try again."

Title. Thunderbird is a really cool client but it's pretty slow. I blame that on the thousands upon thousands of emails that my hotmail and gmail each hold. I don't necessarily want to delete these emails, but I have seldom a reason to have any email older than 2 months in my thunderbird client slowing and crashing the program whenever I want to combine inboxes.

To this end I went to "Synchronization & Storage" and told it to "Synchronize the most recent 2 months" but it didn't delete the huge cluster of older emails. The next option is to tell TB to delete these emails in the same menu but as I understand it that would also delete them in the server, which I don't want to do for posteriority.

What do I do?

When I'm on a website with an Email Link (Example: Support) and I click on the Email Link nothing is happening. Before the Supernova "upgrade" any Email Link would automatically open to my Thunderbird Email Account Email. Now, nothing.

I found a Mozilla Support Post for Windows 11: Apps>Default Apps>Thunderbird>MAILTO, but it is already set to Thunderbird.

Does anyone have a Fix?

My Thunderbird standard display has the message displayed below the list of incoming messages. This message pane take up "Several" lines of display and also duplicates the information in the above message window. Its a waste of space and the actual message has to be reduced in viewable size cause the header block uses it all up.

I was going to donate via PayPal when your site would not let the donation continue until my street address was filled out. Why do you need my street address to accept a donation? You may think it's a small thing but personal information is collateral and I do not see it as being necessary for a simple donation.

I run Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro and have it process several accounts. One of those accounts has developed a strange problem. Every time it checks the server for messages it downloads a message - the same message every time. It has been doing this for several days. If I check this account from another device I will see (and download) new messages. But the new messages do not show up in this account. I stopped and started Thunderbird - problem persists. I shut down and rebooted the laptop - problem persists. I upgraded to newest version - problem persists. Any ideas what causes this? And even more important a suggestion of how to resolve this?

After posting the question I looked at several other posts which presented similar type issues. One suggested going to the account in webmail, finding the oldest message, delete that message, and the problem resolves. I did that, used webmail, deleted the oldest message, now the account works as expected. Done know what caused it but glad that it is now working again.

I reset my Bluehost password for my thunderbird email and I am no longer able to send or receive any emails.

I get the message Login Failed; Login to server mail.noname.com with username joeblow@noname.com failed. Pop-up reads; New Password / Cancel / Retry. When I type in the new password which i know is correct, it fails every time.

I am on OS 10.10.5 running Thunderbird version 78.14.0 using IMAP server.

Is there a fix? I can login to Bluehost's cpanel and use their generic webmail only and can no longer send or receive emails using Thunderbird. Please advise.

Latest Thunderbird update 115.5.2 on my Windows 11 laptop has completely slowed the computer down and keeps opening the 'Help Keep Thunderbird Alive' webpage when I launch Firefox.

I can not change password and connect to my gmail account after changing password. I try also change it in password managaer in settings

Thunderbird crashes regularly when Quickbooks is open. I can't even type in the crash report message box because it also closes quickly. I'm on a Dell Inspiron, win10, 12MB ram. This problem started a few weeks ago. Advice?

Can you please let me know why the coloring of my text which was so simple in the earlier versions is no longer possible.

In such situations can you allow me to use an older version till you fix these bugs?

The paid 6 mo. service Thunderbird has given us is something that Mozilla can not be proud of. We signed up because of the commendable 50 year service of Firefox. Despite several requites for help we can only "Receive", but not "Send". Please fix ASAP or this 3,000 member nonprofit will reductably have to go elsewhere. I get 100-150 e-mails a day, wade through them, respond to few, eliminate some, but still in a month there's a pile-up of hundreds. How can I set Thunderbird to delete all more than two weeks old? And not to put some at the top of the string and some at the bottom of the string? A method of harvesting and burning off.
