When I get an email that Thunderbird thinks is junk, does it get reported to my IMAP server (in my case, mail.com) so that THEY will know to filter any mail from that sender?

while mail sent from Microsoft office outlook to thunderbird client user pc, attached file not received in thunderbird client. i have installed latest version of thunderbird and windows up to date.

I use thunderbird with Debian linux. I want to change the destination for downloads from '/home/myusername/Downloads' to '/home/myusername'. Under Preferences > General > Files & Attachments > Save files to, I can specify any subdirectory of '/home/myusername', but not '/home/myusername' itself. The best I have been able to do is to select 'Always ask me where to save files', so that I can force the download to go where I want it to. Is there a better way, like a configuration file that I could edit? Thanks.

I often need to repair my inbox because of emails having the wrong header connected to them. As I have understood these problems are due to a corrupt MSF-file. Why is the file being corrupted and what precautions can I make to prevent such corruption?

Hi, after updating to Thunderbird 91.8.0 one of my GPG Keys is no longer shown and cannot be imported again. When trying to import I the error:

OpenPGP Alert Importing the keys failed.

This also happens when I use a completely new Thunderbird profile and also with 91.8.1 It's the same for multiple users on Linux and MacOS. All of which can fix this by downgrading to at least 91.7.0 The affected key can be found on: https://keys.openpgp.org/vks/v1/by-fingerprint/07B9BD485A78EAF7B9DBE96C4C423EBF340BD0C2 Interestingly the owner of the private key (which is not me) can still decrypt messages with it. Recently, I think after a recent update, I began having a problem with sending emails sent with BCC only addresses. I checked all my settings and they are correct. Forum respondent advised that some systems will not send emails with BCC only addresses; however, I have never had a problem with BCC only addresses until recently. I did try adding an address in the To field with mixed results. Sometimes the email would send and others not.

 Second problem.  Some of my emails do not appear in Thunderbird but are displayed in the AT&T email reader.  Thunderbird is my primary reader but I have to log on to the AT&T reader to delete emails from their server.  When I log on to delete emails I discover emails that were not displayed in Thunderbird.

I have been a Thunderbird user for years. I reinstalled Windows 10 on my computer in December and then installed the latest version of Thunderbird. Ever since then I have had problems receiving emails. The program kept asking for my password. and rejecting the password I entered.

I went through the support forums and have done everything suggested - made sure I was using the proper SMTP settings; deleting the passwords, restarting and resetting the passwords; etc..

I can get the system functioning, but then a week or two later, Thunderbird has forgotten the passwords. I have three email accounts I use through Thunderbird, all through the same ISP, acsalaska.net. What seems strange to me is that one email account, my default account, works fine - I can receive and send emails fine. However, I keep having to reset the passwords on the other two accounts.

What am I doing wrong. This has been going on for months and I am about ready to dump Thunderbird

I need to know why, when I go to write an email, my name appears twice in the "From" section? I am concerned that it may be a scammed or surveillance facility of a third party. What is the fix for it?

When I empty the junk folder, I'd like it to delete those messages from the All Mail folder, too. How can I accomplish that? (Other than opening the All Mail folder, and using tools to delete mail marked as spam.)

Sorry but I am at a loss but have this detail but no email to send it to. Keeps on saying timed out or STTARTL is a problem. Windows 10 was just re-installed on my PC today and in their process Microsoft scrubbed my Thunderbird Email program out and took with it all my saved messages. Is there any way to migrate from your servers my previously saved emails to my re-installed new Thunder mail program. This is urgent as there are many important emails now lost. Thank-you.

For some reason I can not load my e-mails in mail folders any more. Please check the image from attachment. In one moment in the past I just copied the content of the Thunderbird folder as a backup. Now, when replace the current content by the backup files, Thunderbird opens all backup e-mails correctly. It seems that somehow current files in the path C:\Users\38164\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ir635php.default-release\Mail are corrupted? To make matters worse, I use POP3. Is there any way to recover my e-mails?

When I read my incoming emails the same emails are shown in my inbox as new emails no matter how many times I read the same emails.

At times, I will mark the emails as unread, read them and I have to do this exercise several times until I either delete the message or print the email.

Are there any updates on how to fix this issue?

PS I tried the repair folder and it was a temporary fix.
