Hello, I'm using Thunderbird Mail version 118.0.2 (64 bit). I have a Microsoft Windows Live Mail account that has hundreds of emails and folders that I'd like to import into Thunderbird. My question of course is, how do I do this without loosing any of my emails? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a simple installation procedure available for new version 115 to integrate S/MIME or OpenPGP. I found 23 pages solution informations on your web sites but this is all to complex. I am confused about all if's and when

But my Thunderbird 102 automatically updated to 115. In doing so it deleted all my Sent folders and Sent emails. Profiles backed up under 102 are incompatible with the 115 profile!!! Eventually, I was able to click and drag most of the deleted emails from a backup of 102 to 115.

If 115 is not a direct update why did it automatically update with attendant issues?

THUNDERBIRD IS WORKING FOR MY G-MAILS BUT NOT MY ATT SBCGLOBAL EMAILS. PASSWORDS ON ATT SITE WAS PUT IN WHEN ASKED FOR EACH EMAIL IN THUNDERBIRD. BUT INDICATES Login to server inbound.att.net with username rudbusiness@sbcglobal.net failed.

I have a new computer that I have installed thunderbird on and have been using for a couple of weeks. I already migrated by address book over, but now need to just migrate my folders from my old computer. How do I only migrate folders and not my whole profile? I don't want to loose what I have on my new computer. I should mention I currently only have the folders in Thunderbird that are set up when you install the program. I have not made any new folders.

What is happening? How do I get my emails? I don't have a password for Thunderbird even though I've been using it for many years. I can't contact anyone. Listen, I'm 83, I can't cope with huge changes like this nd I'm panicking! How will you contact me if I can't access email?

In August I stopped being able to send out emails through Thunderbird, but I still was getting incoming mail. My family are all computer nerds but they couldn't figure it out. I talked to the Spectrum Help and they figured out what changes to make in the Thunderbird settings for port numbers to make the new version work, but there was one last change they couldn't manage. They figured out that there needs to be a place in the Thunderbird settings to put in my Spectrum password, for incoming mail. There is one for outgoing mail (the choices were to put in the password or to click on "not necessary", and I used "not necessary") but there is no choice for incoming mail. With the changes they made, I can no longer get incoming or outgoing mail, so I have had to use the Spectrum website to manage the email and it is absolutely horrible, limited, disorganized and very, very slow. I desperately need to fix this. I need to talk to someone in real time, but I can't find a phone number on your website. I recently created a new profile for thunderbird. I have had multiple problems with this new version 115.3.1 (32-bit). Very frustrated.

I am using a gmail account and thunderbird as client. When I recreated IMAP account to new profile, it makes EVERY correspondent the same person. I use the account for forum emails from an organization where like professionals share information and it is private. The new profile takes the name of one member and puts that in all prior emails, rather then having the correct sender name. I had no problem with my prior profile and cant figure out why Thunderbird is doing this?? I a different email account it did the same thing with a different organization and it put same correspondent name on most, but not all group emails.

I am guessing its how thunderbird is reading the message source code. Shouldn't it be taking it from the "FROM" tag in it.

I appreciate any suggestions or comments. I still have my old profile and can use that with no problem. Also gmail online email stuff is fine, so it has to be Thunderbird that is deciding to input one correspondent's name for forum email. I don't understand why or how to fix.

When I try to start Thunderbird I'm unable to login with my live.com credentials. The error says: "We can't sign you in..." Don't have cookies turned on. Any ideas?

Kan geen verbinding meer maken met MS Outlook na update. Melding eerst: wachtwoord of nieuw wachtwoord ingeven. dat werkt niet . Dan volgt de melding: Het bericht kon niet worden verzonden, omdat het verbinden met uitgaande (SMTP-)server smtp.office365.com is mislukt. Kan ook geen nieuw wachtwoord ingeven.

I'm giving Thunderbird a try because I'm unhappy with spam filters and rules not working in Outlook. I am tired of checking all my spam every day, to be sure that a wanted email is placed there. I want my T-BIrd to receive all spam, and use T-BIrd's rules to then firmly isolate, or even delete, specific spam that I receive.

I've set up four email accounts, using a Global Inbox, so everything is together. While I had been using IMAP with Outlook, I understand I need to use Pop3 for this to work with Thunderbird, so I did that. But....

I am getting some emails with Thunderbird, but not all, even those addressed to me. Will leaving Outlook open during this transition period prevent T-Bird from working properly? Likewise, can gmail.com be open when trying to debug messages? I just sent myself a gmail message, which was received in Outlook, but not in T-Bird (and I couldn't find it in Gmail either, which is /really/ confusing).

Oh, shoot, I tried sending mail using my Gmail account from Thunderbird, and it failed. I went to look up Server settings for Gmail with T-Bird, and the article said I'd have to use IMAP, which I cannot use if I want to have the Global Inbox. So, is use of T-Bird dead for me, if I require/desire a Global inbox?

Of the emails I've received so far, only one is marked by T-Bird as Junk, which I can identify by the red color, and when I click on it, I have a "Not Junk" button. But there is no Junk folder, which is where I thought it would be.

I created a Google Takeout file for my emails in my old gmail account which I am trying to import into my new gmail account, however the system does not allow me to split the files into smaller sections say 2-4GB which is what Thunderbird supports. I tried to submit for a 2-4GB split for the Google Takeout files and no luck...it always comes out in 2 files, one is a few MBs and the second file is over 40GB.

As I am trying to use ImportExport NG tool in the Local folders Mbox import, I get an error of Mbox All mail Including Spam and Trash-002.mbox larger than 4GB, skipping.

I've tried to find some online MBOX splitting tools, however no success as the file is too big and causing issues.

Any help with be much appreciated.

After over 10 years of TB its time to move on to a mail client that actually works. I manage 10+ different E-Mail addresses across 3 domains, Since September, the ability of TB to actually work is hit and miss. (Wont get messages, wont send messages, says messages are sent when theyre not, slower than molasses in January, overall TB has really gone down hill IMO) I dont have the time or the patience to go through and try to change a bunch of settings and do all this stuff (across 10+ email accounts, that used to work fine, but no longer work due to the 'upgrade'), just to find out its so screwed up that nothing works and I lose everything again.

So, what I would like to do, is extract client E-Mail address out of TB, so I can put them into a new email client that actually works.

I have tried upgrading down grading before I uninstall it, Id like to get my information out, rebuilding my address book took forever last time.

All E-Mail is stored server side, so not worried about losing anything there.

I have a 39 gig profile folder on a win7 computer and have copied it to a hard drive Trying to import to a win11 computer by importing from profile folder. Before anything moves I get an unexpected error with no explanation Don’t know if I need to try a little at a time or if that even matters

I recently reset my desk top and after that my thunderbird will not open without a password that I have not got. I need a simple way to find the password or otherwise allow me to reinstal a new download. I have tried for two days using lots of suggestions from web and help but I cant get past the request for a password

Thunderbird 15.4.2 was made available today. Since 15.4.1 reintroduced bugs from 15.0 (Hot Mess Edition first push) that had been fixed by 15.3, and I had bugzillad one, I wondered if 15.4.2 had fixed the bug they introduced in 15.4.1. I installed it and clicked on the usual place for release notes, and got an error message -- that page doesn't exist! They always put out release notes when a new version comes out. This time they didn't. Things really seem to be falling apart at MZLA.

And no, they haven't fixed the bug. Mailnews_scroll... in advanced settings still works backwards (set it to false if you want it to work).
