I installed TB version 102 and do not wish to update. Per previous no-updating solutions I found, I have the "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them" option tagged, I renamed "updater.exe" to "no-updater.exe," and have the following JSON in my distributions folder:

Yet, today, it still automatically updated to version 128. Why?

Attempting to import profile from previous 128.0.1esr version, Tools -> Import... . - Import profile from path (/.../Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles) fails with "Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console." -Import profile from zip file (/.../Thunderbird_profile_backup.zip) fails with "Import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console."

Where is the Error Console?

I have tried doing this for the last couple of days with no success. Is there any way to import all data from another Thunderbird installation? This used to work in previous installations.

I have had firefox for a long time, but have until recently always used Windows live mail, until it recently crashed. Thunderbird was put on my computer via Teamviewer???? I have been unable to get it to work properly.

I can't receive or send emails.

I donated to MZLA, looking forward to an "improved" Thunderbird. I am very frustrated by the result.

Downloaded and started new Thunderbird, and I have several questions:

This is a serious inquiry; I am desperate for information & help.

1. What happened to my address book? How can I get it back? A hundred or more addresses just disappeared.

2. What happened to all of my saved messages? How can I get them back? I used to have a neatly organized file of saved messages. If I was still using Tbird for my business, I would be looking for a lawyer. As it is, I am simply looking for something as useful as the old Tbird.

3. How can I save a message to a specific category or off line file? I used to have several hundred categorized files in my data base for saved messages.

4. Why does my effort to use a help request not respond to my mouse clicks? It seems to always want more donations.

5. Can I go back to the old version? It was easier to use and more straightforward.

6. What am I missing in this "new and improved" version? Is there another email application that would give me the nice features of the old Thunderbird?

7. Can I revert back to the old Tbird and recover the extensive lost addresses and saved messages?

8. If I decide the "new and improved" Tbird will not provide the features the old one did, how can I get a refund of my contribution?

I am missing years and months of email between March 2022 and early August 2024 after doing a compaction. The emails are still on my server. Should I uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall it to recover those missing emails. I have tried to repair my Inbox folder, but they are still missing.

I run Thunderbird on both my desktop and laptop computers and often move emails to local folders. How can I keep the two installations of my local folders in sync?

Am running 102.12.0 thunderbird portable. have been informed by Microsoft that this does not meet their requirements as from 16 sept. ergo my email will be useless. don't know what they are talking about basically. am really use less with email. Pl help. what do I need to do? is there any updated installation i can download. All i know is that this is something to do with O Athentication but have no idea what they are talking about.

After Thunderbird update on 8/12/24, I can no longer open PDF attachements. The attachements are there, they simply cannot be opened. I can save the same PDF files to Downloads etc, so the file is there. Also cannot open any PDF file received previous to this date, that I could open before the update.

Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

Installing Thunderbird on a new Laptop fails: The e-mail address is correct, as is the password. The following message appears : Settings were found in the Mozilla IISP database. After clicking: Done, the error message appears: Login to the server failled. The configuration, user name or password may not be correct. According to my settings, however, evrything is correct. What can I do?

I added the repository ppa:mozillateam/ppa, but it installs the Thunderbird 115 instead of the latest 128. Is there any way to install Thunderbird 128 from a PPA? If not, will it be updated some day? Alternatively is there any deb version available of Thunderbird 128?
