I have installed Thunderbird 115 after following disk drive failure. I use Gmail as my mail provider and now when I try to add a recipient in the 'to' or 'cc' to a new email I want to create I don't get any auto-suggestions from my previous mail history which I used to get before. This makes the product almost useless because I can't remember every possible email address I have received and I don't always add occasional contacts details to my local address book.

Am I missing something like a setting change or something?

Until the 9th of april I had no problem since then I keep on getting the message: login to server imap.tools.sky.com user namemorgandavid33@sky.com failed

retry or enter new password.

I contacted sky and I did change my password on their advice and I still cannot login. How do I get thunderbird to accept this new password. Or is there another issue with logging in?

The Sky.com email is now provided by Yahoo. I can access my emails there but I prefer Thunderbird and have used it for some time now. Thank you for your help.

I've got just one address book with several groups. I can see how many contacts are in each. But how can I locate which contacts have not been assigned to a group? No export of contacts or groups helps. Is there a config. file or something that maps the contacts to the groups? The intelligence must be hiding somewhere here.

It would be great if one could display the groups as one can display the address book name in the Address Book tab. Maybe I need to convert groups to address books? Will I be sorry if I try that? With a little testing, functionality seems very much the same.

Sadly, my old Windows 10 PC crashed, and I'm migrating to a new computer. I have a backup of the old default profile folder (9k7faw1z.default), but not of the entire Profiles folder. I have tried to import this old default profile using the import function in my new Thunderbird install on my new Windows 11 computer.

Alas, I get the error message "Import failed unexpectedly; more information may be available in the Error Console." I looked in the error console, and it's empty.

Is there a better way to import my old data from my old default profile folder? It's 3GB of valuable data and I'll be in a pickle if I can't access it.

Hello, I have two email addresses, one personnel, one business. The other night, Thunderbird asked me to download an update. Since downloading the update, all my business emails and subfolders are gone and have been replaced by my personnel email address and subfolders. (in the left hand pane - pic attached) The business emails and subfolders are on my main server yahoo, but are not on my Thunderbird program. Can someone help me to recover the business email address emails and subfolders? Thank you.

Previously, for years, selecting and deleting groups of emails took only seconds. For sometime now, the more emails selected to delete as a group causes the amount of time to do so to become longer and longer. Minutes go by. It feels like instead of dealing with all of them at once, it's deleting one at a time, but that's just a guess. What can I do to get back to where it used to be? Thank you.

why do you change my message selection when I delete an unrelated message??? Sometimes you delete a message that I haven't opened yet (and don't necessarily wish to open at this time)!!!

Whenever i use quick filter to look for email. Thunderbird would tank and massively slow down. Is this common problem or is it just me. Sometimes the performance hit also bleed outside the app and slow the entire system.

For the past three months I have not received any e mails on my i phone from Thunderbird. I get them on my computer but not on my i phone. My provider is Shaw and I have been in touch with them but they said to contact you. I don't understand why I suddenly quit getting the e mails on my phone. I need to receive them as I need access to e mails on my phone soon, as I am out of town and have no computer where I spend the summer.

I seem to have lost the search bar that allowed me to find certain emails in specific folders. I am now left with the one that searches all my email folders. Why? How do I get it back?

Messages I sent from my iphone are showing up in my inbox marked with a gold star and looking like they came from the recipient, but they werent. Almost like a reminder of an email I sent? - I mistake them for new incoming messages. Why is this happening and how do I make it stop???

as per subject is there a way to reply directly in the preview window like outlook and not in a new window? I tried to search in options but I can't see if there is a way. The pop up new window is a little annoying.

I want to support Mozilla but have no need for the complexity of Thunderbird. I find navigating the huge number of options hugely timewasting, eg I inadvertently remove some headers but can find no way of undoing this. Is there a cut down, simplified version I can use?

Hi Thunderbird Community! This is my first post here.

I use TB 115 (currently it is up 115.10.2)

Whenever I receive an image as an attachment and I click on it and then comes opening abc image window. Since a couple of version back there is an image preview and the action buttons under them. In my case it is just trying to be. And I cannot change the window size, nor can I scroll in it.

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Greg

I'm having some difficulty getting my email signature for my new job set up correctly.

I want the company logo to appear on the left, with my details to the right of the logo, as seen in the first screenshot.

However, currently, the text appears incorrectly underneath the company logo. I have tried pasting the signature into a blank email, generating the HTML code and pasting that into the signature text box, yet it still displays incorrectly when sending an email.

The HTML for my email signature is as follows:

Zmiana domyślnego adresu poczty wychodzącej nie jest skuteczna. Pomimo ustawienia innego konta, wysyłka domyślna i tak następuje z konta, które zostało jako pierwsze dodane do programu. Innymi słowy używając klawisza NAPISZ domyślnie w polu nadawcy pojawia się adres, którego nie chcę. W programie ustawiłem inne adres wysyłania, niż ten który się pojawia. Problem wg forum jest znany od przynajmniej roku 2019...
