Hi,

since updating Thunderbird (Fedora 36) to 102.2.1 (from thunderbird-91.12.0-1.fc36.x86_64), my personal calendar, hosted on Google Calendar, has started to have sync issues, with now being empty, without error message. Re-starting Thunderbird, synchronizing or hiding/re-showing the calendar (which helped in the past) doesn't help in any way.

I couldn't find a corresponding bugzilla and wanted to hear if it's a generic issue and how to proceed with debugging.

I've even removed the calendar re-add it, Thunderbird discovers my calendars properly, using gmail.com as location and my corporate e-mail as login.

During first synchronization, I get a bunch of

New update has broken my calendar!!

2. BIG PROBLEMS though now with my calendar - all my repeating events have disappeared & it won't let me add new ones, only single events. I need this to work like it used to asap.

3. I want the daily events pane to be back on the right side of my screen - but can't find a way to make that happen - can that be done?

4. When the reminder pop up appears, if I click dismiss the now empty pop up screens stays open - how do I get it to auto close after I select to dismiss or remind me later like it used to?

Help reading large ics file into TB 102.2.2

I am migrating back to TB after seven years with zimbra and so have to import exports from zimbra. I am running TB 102.2.2 in an daily updated Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS machine with a AMD® Ryzen 7 5800h processor and 64Gb of RAM (and oodles of spare HD space).

My calendar ics file is pretty huge, 23.2Mb and when I try to import it into TB TB seems to hang (get the "quit or wait" message in Ubuntu). I'm not surprised as I guess this is an antisocially large ICS file. I can read it with some roll my own R code and see that it has 419,184 lines and, somewhat reassuringly, R detects 11,845 "BEGIN:VEVENT" lines and 11,845 "END:VEVENT" lines so I think I can conclude that I have that many events!

I can apply my mind and clunky programming skills to R and split this file into smaller ones but I thought I'd ask a few questions here before I start that:

Q1: do I copy everything from "BEGIN:VCALENDAR" to the first "BEGIN:VEVENT" as a header for each smaller file I create?

Q2: does anyone have any advice about how small and therefore how many small files I should create to be fairly safe for TB to read them OK?

Q3: am I correct that I don't have to worry about date ordering the entries? I can just take them in the order they come in the big file?

Many thanks in advance. Rather nice to be coming back to TB, I always liked it but wrongly thought it was in organisational peril seven years ago. Should have stayed!

I am on 102.3.0 64-bit with Windows 10. Everything is up to date.

My pc calendar is correct and the time zone is correct. Thunderbird knows the correct date since when I go into settings, the Date Text Format is showing today's date, not the date that is highlighted. I tried renaming xulstore.json and session.json as was suggested on a previous thread.

Thunderbird 102.3.0 (64-bit) Provider for Google Calendar 102.00 Windows 11

After recent update my google calendar events disappear from Lighting calendar. If I move into the next week the recurring events do not appear and when I move back into my current week they are no longer displaying. I have tried clicking on the eye to not display and display again and that doesn't work. I have tried to re-sync the items and that does not work. I have removed all other addons other than Provider for Google Calendar and that didn't work either. There hasn't been an update to Provider for Google Calendar since June so I'm assuming that this is a Thunderbird issue. The only way I've found to get my calendar events back again is to unsubscribe and then subscribe to my google calendar again. I can't keep doing that.

I have noticed that the calendar that doesn't appear is my Google Workspace calendar. The other calendars are part of free gmail accounts.

Any ideas how I can work out what's going on? If not, how can I go back to a previous version where this was working?

Hello, I have a question related to calendar management. The situation is that the employee wants the event created by him to be automatically accepted by the participants and not to receive confirmation e-mails and the event to be included in the calendar. Checking "Accepted" still shows options related to the confirmation of the message. Please help

I migrated to the built-in calendar after recently having problems with the Google Provider add-on. There doesn't appear to have a email reminder' the only option on the "Choose a Reminder Action" pull-down is "Show an Alert" (it is odd that there is a pull-down with only one option). I have reviewed the Properties for the google calendar and updated the "Email:" address. I also have looked at the "Global Notification Preferences" and all of the rest of the Calendar preferences and find nothing about enabling email notifications. What is going on? Is there some magic needed to enable an email option?

If people send me an invitation from MS Teams or Zoom, the link doesn't show up in my Thunderbird calendar if I add it there. I have to go back to the email message containing the meeting to find the link.

How can I avoid this problem, i.e. how can I make sure all the info from the mail is visible in calendar items?

Print Selected calendar event

In previous versions of Thunderbird, we could select a calendar event then go to File>>Print>>Selected and it would print just that event. In the current version there is no option to choose selected. It will only print a list, monthly or weekly.

I need the functionality to print individual events to keep our appointments organized while maintaining confidentiality.

Is there a way to reenable this functionality, or does anyone have a suggested workaround?

For the last few weeks, my Thunderbird calendar 'loses' it's connection to my Google calendar almost every day. Prior to this is has worked fine for ever. Go to calendar tab and it's completely blank. Next to my google calendar is a little warning triangle but no associated message. Very occasionally, it eventually comes back again. Usually I 'unsubscribe' the calendar then add it in again. After that it slowly comes back.

Using Thunderbird 102.2.2 on fully up to date W10. Using native calendar connection to Google - no add-ons.

Any ideas?
